We go live on location at The Cafe located at Tree City Inn
Warren First 931: Your local hub for all things community!
[00:00:36] You know, trial and error, guys.
[00:00:42] Do you have to plug into your...
[00:00:44] I do. It says it wasn't picking up.
[00:00:49] It's going to be fun.
[00:00:55] Technology, you're good.
[00:00:57] Hey, good morning.
[00:00:59] Yeah, we're here.
[00:01:02] You're fine.
[00:01:03] Yeah, you're good.
[00:01:04] Picked up that.
[00:01:05] Because currently right now, you're just going to be probably hearing our...
[00:01:10] Until I can figure this out, it's not picking up on one end.
[00:01:14] But we're going to double check before we...
[00:01:18] Oh, yeah. I took it off that one.
[00:01:21] But, yeah, our mics are working as far as off the computer.
[00:01:25] See, I'm just going to go off and do my thing.
[00:01:29] Yeah, it's not going to pick it up because I didn't bring my right cord.
[00:01:32] That's fine.
[00:01:33] We're just going to look like we got the props today.
[00:01:36] That's what's going to happen.
[00:01:38] Do we have to speak a little louder?
[00:01:39] No. I don't think so.
[00:01:41] All right.
[00:01:42] But with that said, good morning.
[00:01:44] I'm your host of the show, Kelly Walker-Slaughter.
[00:01:47] Again with me is our honorary co-host, Brian Carr.
[00:01:51] And I love having him on.
[00:01:53] And, again, shout out to Melody Krim this morning.
[00:01:56] I hope that you're getting feeling better because she's getting ready for her surgery tomorrow.
[00:02:02] So, prayers go to her and quick healing and all that fun jazz.
[00:02:07] But with that said, we are.
[00:02:10] I talked to Kevill yesterday because we talked about it on our business buzz yesterday that the Tree City Inn officially opened the cafe yesterday.
[00:02:20] And so, I said, hey, can we come and do a podcast here?
[00:02:23] And he goes, yes, you can.
[00:02:25] So, we're here with lovely Megan and her staff.
[00:02:31] And some cool, interesting things I would like to tell everybody.
[00:02:35] You know, one thing, everybody, Brian, that you might have heard in town is people are wanting a coffee shop that opens early in the morning.
[00:02:43] And, Megan, am I right?
[00:02:44] Y'all open up at 5 a.m.?
[00:02:46] Seven days a week.
[00:02:47] Seven days a week, guys.
[00:02:49] So, Sunday through Saturday at 5 a.m.
[00:02:52] Whether you stay here or not, you can come in and get all these amazing different types of drinks.
[00:02:59] And we're actually going to test some.
[00:03:01] Not right now.
[00:03:02] I'll let mine cool down a little bit.
[00:03:03] But we got an Americana.
[00:03:05] Is that how you say it?
[00:03:06] Americana.
[00:03:07] And then a caramel macchiato, right?
[00:03:10] But you guys also have other drinks to offer as well.
[00:03:13] Yes.
[00:03:14] So, we have various lattes.
[00:03:17] Our purpose for the cafe is to have the authentic, real coffee so that you can experience the actual flavors without all the extras.
[00:03:29] We do have some of the extras because I know that the South has a sweet tooth.
[00:03:33] Yeah.
[00:03:33] That's right.
[00:03:35] So, we do have, you know, Americana espresso drinks.
[00:03:40] One of my favorites is an espresso campana, which is just whipped cream with espresso.
[00:03:44] And so, it's super rich, but a little hint to something good.
[00:03:47] And then, of course, we have, like, the mochas and some various flavors.
[00:03:51] Now, has anybody ever come in yet or maybe has requested anything, you know, different that's off menu?
[00:03:58] So, somebody did request the Cuban coffee.
[00:04:01] That is an amazing coffee.
[00:04:02] Okay.
[00:04:03] And we were just unsure of what we were going to get in the area.
[00:04:06] So, that, we're going to put it on the menu.
[00:04:08] And what makes your coffee is different from other places?
[00:04:12] I mean, just besides opening up at 5 a.m., what other things do you offer?
[00:04:18] I mean, because Kevro was saying when he wanted a cafe, he wanted a coffee you couldn't get anywhere else.
[00:04:23] Right.
[00:04:24] So, he has an amazing, well, I'm going to say it wrong.
[00:04:31] Probably it's an Italian machine.
[00:04:33] It's super fancy.
[00:04:33] I actually had to learn that.
[00:04:35] I've been in coffee for 20 years.
[00:04:36] Okay.
[00:04:36] So, that machine was a whole new experience for me.
[00:04:39] So, the process with that machine is just, does it a lot different than other places.
[00:04:45] An American machine?
[00:04:47] Yes.
[00:04:47] I mean, most of them are technically foreign.
[00:04:50] You know what I mean?
[00:04:51] Yeah.
[00:04:52] So, it just, it brews differently.
[00:04:53] But we also partner with Crema Coffee from Nashville.
[00:04:57] So, you know, we have, they have amazing roasts.
[00:05:01] They have amazing coffee.
[00:05:02] So, that also makes it different.
[00:05:05] And, yeah, I mean.
[00:05:09] So, folks, it's not just an espresso machine that George Clooney hawks on TV.
[00:05:14] This is actually a really rich, developed brew that comes out.
[00:05:19] So, you're not going to be able to get this just anywhere.
[00:05:21] So, we're really fortunate to have this in this location because you guys are doing it.
[00:05:27] You got the well on one side.
[00:05:29] You got the cafe on the other side.
[00:05:31] But you've also got a hotel on top of everything.
[00:05:34] So, the primary business.
[00:05:36] So, this is, and then using the distributor out of Nashville, Crema Coffee.
[00:05:40] That's a wonderful thing for, and Kelly and I can tell you, we love home team.
[00:05:47] Yeah.
[00:05:47] We love local businesses.
[00:05:49] And so, this is great for people to come.
[00:05:51] They don't have to worry about going very far because you're basically in the center of town.
[00:05:56] Yeah.
[00:05:56] You don't have to go to Merceboro Nashville to get that coffee.
[00:05:59] It's right here, which I love.
[00:06:00] And then also, I would say, if you get into February, maybe the second week of February,
[00:06:07] we will be open until 7 p.m.
[00:06:10] Oh, wow.
[00:06:10] And then we're going to be incorporating with some special vendors in town that a lot of people enjoy and love.
[00:06:18] And for people who have definitely most likely heard about them, they're going to be able to try them here.
[00:06:24] And so, we're going to have various pastries and, you know, shots, bagels, things like that.
[00:06:31] And then, I think we're going to be working towards, like, sandwiches, midday stacks, things like that.
[00:06:35] Oh, cool.
[00:06:36] Just slow and steady.
[00:06:37] I love that.
[00:06:38] Now, are you going to have a guitar player here at any given time?
[00:06:43] Because I know you guys can come in the evenings to the well, and you'll find Steve Harvey or Joe Harvey or my brother Lee Harp playing.
[00:06:51] Yes, one of those famous players.
[00:06:52] So, yeah.
[00:06:53] Are you guys, is that a goal for you guys here?
[00:06:56] Pebble is full of surprises.
[00:06:57] He loves.
[00:06:58] There's no telling.
[00:06:59] There's no telling.
[00:07:00] I was going to say, yeah.
[00:07:01] I definitely think that we will have local artists.
[00:07:05] Yeah.
[00:07:05] I mean, especially being open up at 7 o'clock at night, I wouldn't expect anything less.
[00:07:09] Right.
[00:07:09] You know, you got to keep it going.
[00:07:11] Is there anything we haven't matched you before?
[00:07:14] Because I know you said it starts picking up at a certain time here.
[00:07:19] No, I don't think so.
[00:07:22] I do have one thing.
[00:07:23] Okay.
[00:07:23] I'm sorry.
[00:07:24] No, that's fine.
[00:07:25] Because you're running such a, I mean, 5 o'clock and we're shooting for 7 o'clock, it's going to require a lot of staff.
[00:07:33] Yes.
[00:07:33] You're going to need staff.
[00:07:35] So, if somebody wants to know what, being a, this is legitimate barista work.
[00:07:41] Yes.
[00:07:41] I mean, if you want to know, can somebody come and apply here or how do they need to go about doing that?
[00:07:46] The easiest way for me is if you come in and apply.
[00:07:49] You can apply in Indeed.
[00:07:50] Indeed.
[00:07:51] But if you come on in, we're doing on-spot interviews and you'll usually know that day or the next day if you're hired.
[00:07:59] You don't have to have experience.
[00:08:01] We've specialized our trainers, our training thing, schedule to work for people who are visual learners, that are doers, and that are listeners.
[00:08:11] So, it incorporates all three so that we can do it as fast as you catch on or as slow as you catch on.
[00:08:20] It's, it's.
[00:08:21] Go at your own pace.
[00:08:22] Yeah, there you go.
[00:08:23] Like, they're not trying to force you to, like, be a barista.
[00:08:26] Right.
[00:08:26] You learn very slowly because you want them to know how to do it correctly.
[00:08:29] Yes.
[00:08:30] I understand 100%.
[00:08:31] So, like she said, you can come in.
[00:08:33] You can go on Indeed.
[00:08:34] You know, if you need any, if you have any questions, you can call them as well.
[00:08:38] Absolutely.
[00:08:38] Can people call and make ticket orders?
[00:08:41] Yes.
[00:08:42] It hasn't happened yet.
[00:08:44] But you can.
[00:08:44] We can.
[00:08:45] I just thought of that.
[00:08:46] Oh, yeah.
[00:08:46] That'd be great.
[00:08:47] I'm glad you said that.
[00:08:48] Yes.
[00:08:48] But one of the neat things about this place is because here is almost the lobby of the hotel.
[00:08:53] If you want to drive up and get something real quick, put your order in, and it's raining outside, they got the overpass to block the rain off of you.
[00:09:03] Go in, grab your stuff, and go.
[00:09:04] So, now, with payment, you take cash, credit cards.
[00:09:09] So, right now, when we're starting, we're trying to use up.
[00:09:13] Kevin's always ahead of the times.
[00:09:14] Oh, yeah.
[00:09:15] Yes, yes, yes.
[00:09:15] So, right now, he's trying to see if he can just do cashless.
[00:09:20] Oh.
[00:09:22] Like they do in Nashville.
[00:09:23] Right.
[00:09:23] I guess.
[00:09:23] So, if it eventually becomes a thing, then maybe adjustments will be made.
[00:09:28] But right now, he's trying cashless.
[00:09:31] Okay.
[00:09:31] Well, Megan, these coffees look so great.
[00:09:33] Yes.
[00:09:33] I don't know if you got.
[00:09:34] Mine's just an Americano.
[00:09:36] I'm going to turn it down.
[00:09:37] And we're going to show you how beautiful this caramel macchiato is.
[00:09:42] There it is.
[00:09:42] With Kelly.
[00:09:43] It looks so pretty.
[00:09:45] And, guys, I know we've got a bunch of people online.
[00:09:48] Let us know what your favorite drink is in the comments.
[00:09:50] Subscribe and like below.
[00:09:52] Oh, there you go.
[00:09:53] Kevel said online ordering coming soon.
[00:09:55] All right.
[00:09:56] Kevel's on top of everything.
[00:09:57] Hey, thank you, Kevel, for all that you do.
[00:10:00] I don't know him as well as others do.
[00:10:03] Yeah.
[00:10:03] But I've heard of him.
[00:10:04] Yeah.
[00:10:05] And when my wife was in JA, he sponsored so many things.
[00:10:09] And what people don't know is he's got a very philanthropic heart.
[00:10:11] He does.
[00:10:12] Where he takes care of the things in the community that we need taken care of.
[00:10:16] So, thank you, Kevel.
[00:10:17] Thank you for thinking, being forward thinking and bringing things.
[00:10:21] Because we don't want to have to drive to Manchester.
[00:10:23] And I told him, I'm not a huge coffee drinker.
[00:10:25] And he said, get the sweetest thing.
[00:10:27] So, we're going to go for it.
[00:10:31] I would need to be a little more sweeter.
[00:10:35] And we can.
[00:10:36] We definitely can.
[00:10:37] So, which is actually.
[00:10:38] I just don't like.
[00:10:39] Okay.
[00:10:40] Just like my alcoholic beverages, I don't want to taste alcohol.
[00:10:43] Don't want to taste coffee.
[00:10:44] So, I think that.
[00:10:45] That's just what I mean.
[00:10:46] Now, Kelly's not a coffee drinker.
[00:10:48] I'm not.
[00:10:48] You're self-professed.
[00:10:49] I am.
[00:10:51] And the richness in this.
[00:10:52] It's not an espresso because it's an Americano.
[00:10:56] Tell us the difference between an Americano and espresso.
[00:10:59] Okay.
[00:10:59] So, it's actually all espresso.
[00:11:03] But the Americano is espresso in water.
[00:11:06] So, it's just a richer, deeper coffee than what you would brew at home.
[00:11:10] And then, actually, what's funny.
[00:11:12] So, our caramel macchiato is actually very deceiving.
[00:11:15] Because you think it's full of sweetness.
[00:11:18] Oh, thank you.
[00:11:19] It actually has less syrup and then caramel brisket.
[00:11:22] So, you would like a latte or even our mochas or some of those.
[00:11:27] Can I try one?
[00:11:27] I can absolutely make one.
[00:11:28] Yeah, okay.
[00:11:29] And then, they look really pretty.
[00:11:32] Okay.
[00:11:33] Do you want to try this one?
[00:11:36] If you don't want to, I know you're on your diet.
[00:11:37] I know I'm on my diet.
[00:11:39] But she did say it's not as sweet.
[00:11:42] Yeah.
[00:11:42] My daughter's not.
[00:11:43] And by the way, I took Brian's advice and be like, get the, you know, the sweetest thing.
[00:11:48] And I thought of caramel macchiato.
[00:11:49] So, you should call it the deceiver.
[00:11:53] I'm just saying.
[00:11:54] Well, that's the beautiful thing about brood and your roast.
[00:11:57] You were talking about getting certain beans or certain roasts from the local company.
[00:12:02] Your roast.
[00:12:03] I mean, just like tea.
[00:12:04] Yeah.
[00:12:05] Anything that you brew.
[00:12:06] Go ahead.
[00:12:07] We are actually going to be doing some loose leaf teas.
[00:12:14] Tea's.
[00:12:15] But we're just trying to get everybody, you know, incorporated and learning this.
[00:12:18] I'm a tea person.
[00:12:19] And then we're moving on to the teas.
[00:12:20] And we're going to have like tea lattes.
[00:12:22] It's not harsh.
[00:12:24] No, that's the right balance.
[00:12:25] Can I even say this?
[00:12:26] It's in the middle.
[00:12:27] This is better than a Starbucks one.
[00:12:29] I will tell you all that.
[00:12:32] Because it's not as, I'm not a coffee drinker, but it tastes harsher at Starbucks.
[00:12:38] I don't know how to explain it because I'm not eating.
[00:12:40] But when I get a drink and I have to be with my friends at Starbucks, this is what I always go to.
[00:12:44] But this one goes down smoother and it doesn't pack a punch.
[00:12:49] Is that the best way to do it?
[00:12:50] That is right.
[00:12:51] So, like I said, I've been in coffee for 20 years.
[00:12:54] Yeah.
[00:12:55] I have worked almost everywhere.
[00:12:57] And the process that is done here versus other places is just literally putting in a machine and pressing a button and it's doing it for you.
[00:13:06] So, really, the only thing some of these companies are doing is steaming your milk.
[00:13:11] So, we're literally putting the beans in.
[00:13:15] We are grinding.
[00:13:15] We are measuring to make sure the proper flavor.
[00:13:18] We are, you know, the whole process.
[00:13:21] Okay.
[00:13:21] Just like at the well.
[00:13:22] Like they make sure.
[00:13:23] Okay.
[00:13:24] I love that.
[00:13:25] I would like to try one more.
[00:13:27] I'll try the, give me your sweetest thing.
[00:13:29] Do you like chocolate?
[00:13:30] I love chocolate.
[00:13:31] I'll be right back.
[00:13:32] That is one beautiful drink too.
[00:13:34] Sorry.
[00:13:34] Okay.
[00:13:34] I love that.
[00:13:35] Thank you, Megan.
[00:13:36] But while we're waiting on Megan, there's been so many things.
[00:13:39] Let's just go right into, you know, what is going on in Warren County.
[00:13:43] And as I always say, Warren County, are you listening?
[00:13:46] This is our segment for that.
[00:13:48] And with that said, no, I did not.
[00:13:54] I'm always working.
[00:13:55] It's always go, go, go with me.
[00:13:57] But with that said, first of all, I want to say, you know, I always love getting compliments.
[00:14:02] And I want to give a shout out to Scotty Gill.
[00:14:05] He was my computer teacher back in middle school.
[00:14:08] Sure enough.
[00:14:09] Shout out.
[00:14:09] And he also did some work with our trees and stuff through the nursery.
[00:14:15] And he did make a shout out to Warren First yesterday.
[00:14:18] Yes, he did.
[00:14:19] And so thank you for that.
[00:14:21] I so appreciate it.
[00:14:22] I really, you know, the whole goal of Warren First 931 is to get anything and everything out to the community.
[00:14:29] Because the more we know, the more we can move together.
[00:14:33] And, you know, one thing that I love about, you know, not just Scotty, but our community is how everybody does shout outs to our sports teams.
[00:14:40] And it's not just about basketball and baseball and softball and things like that.
[00:14:44] Also, the wrestling team.
[00:14:46] Yes.
[00:14:47] And, folks, our wrestling team is doing, this is probably the best they've ever done.
[00:14:52] 100%.
[00:14:52] And we're very proud.
[00:14:54] They just had a tournament here this past weekend.
[00:14:56] We had several first place finishers, several second place finishers.
[00:15:00] And we hope to.
[00:15:02] And let's go ahead and break it.
[00:15:04] Thursday night here in Warren County at the Warren County High School, the wrestling team, both the guys and the girls, will be facing off against two other different schools in a dual meet.
[00:15:15] And so we want to encourage everybody, 6 o'clock, come out to the high school.
[00:15:19] And I would love to come there and do some interviews and find out.
[00:15:22] You're welcome to.
[00:15:23] I'll be at a basketball game, but you can't.
[00:15:25] Well, look, that's what I'm planning to do.
[00:15:28] So, yeah, we'll meet with some folks.
[00:15:30] We'll find out what's going on.
[00:15:32] But I'll tell you, I'm really intrigued because one of the things that I didn't have growing up, I wrestled.
[00:15:38] I wasn't very good, but I got some brothers that were really good.
[00:15:41] And one wound up going on scholarship.
[00:15:43] Oh, wow.
[00:15:44] The only Division I school.
[00:15:46] How many brothers do you have?
[00:15:46] I've got two brothers.
[00:15:48] One's an amazing musician and the other's an amazing athlete.
[00:15:50] I was going to say, you've got so many brothers.
[00:15:52] I'm just the fan.
[00:15:54] I'm a big fan boy.
[00:15:55] And we have a lot of great wrestlers winning championships, titles.
[00:15:59] If you haven't seen it, and I mean, again, the coaching staff has always been impeccable.
[00:16:07] And I believe that the Warren County wrestling team has been phenomenal.
[00:16:10] But this year has been the best year yet.
[00:16:13] Oh, yes.
[00:16:14] And look, they've had to face so much adversity at the front end of the season with the loss of their head coach.
[00:16:21] And to see that they're still working hard and still pushing, that's very honorable.
[00:16:27] So Warren County, we need to be proud of our high school wrestlers, both men and women.
[00:16:32] And that's one of the things I was getting at.
[00:16:33] Back when I was in.
[00:16:35] I'm already living with what I'm saying.
[00:16:36] Keep talking.
[00:16:37] Go ahead.
[00:16:37] A young buck.
[00:16:39] We didn't have females wrestling.
[00:16:41] Occasionally there would be one.
[00:16:43] But now more and more women are getting into the sport.
[00:16:46] And it's great because as far as sports go.
[00:16:48] Oh, look at this.
[00:16:49] Hey, guys.
[00:16:51] This is called, my mom would call this sissy coffee.
[00:16:55] Okay.
[00:16:57] It's a mocha latte.
[00:16:58] Mocha latte.
[00:16:59] You know what?
[00:17:00] I'm going to have, instead of calling it mocha latte, I know Kev's listening.
[00:17:03] I'm just going to say, I'm going to come up with all your new names.
[00:17:06] The Deceiver.
[00:17:07] The Sissy.
[00:17:09] I mean, or the Sis.
[00:17:11] You know, whatever.
[00:17:13] Okay.
[00:17:13] I'm going to try this now.
[00:17:14] Should I mix the whipped cream in it?
[00:17:16] You can.
[00:17:16] I mean, it's good.
[00:17:17] And you're always going to, you're going to nose it.
[00:17:19] Mm-hmm.
[00:17:20] Oh, yeah.
[00:17:21] Oh, that's so much better.
[00:17:22] Kelly, you got a little spot there.
[00:17:25] That's so good.
[00:17:26] I like that better.
[00:17:28] Would you like a spoon?
[00:17:29] I would love a spoon to eat it like ice cream.
[00:17:32] So, I found my thing.
[00:17:33] It's called the mocha latte.
[00:17:37] So, thank you, Megan, for that.
[00:17:39] No.
[00:17:40] I can, now I will tell you this.
[00:17:41] I can barely taste, barely taste the coffee in this one.
[00:17:47] And our whipped cream is made in the house.
[00:17:50] Okay.
[00:17:50] Everything we do is, with the coffee, we make it ourselves.
[00:17:54] Oh, wow.
[00:17:55] See, I feel like I'm being spoiled now.
[00:17:58] We got a few shout-outs to give while you're doing that.
[00:18:01] I'm going to give a shout-out to the Warren County Pride High School Band.
[00:18:04] Yes.
[00:18:05] Look, I love what Mr. Hargis is doing over there.
[00:18:08] I've got some wonderful friends, Samson McLean and Mr. Grady Collier,
[00:18:16] and our award-winning Ms. Emma Kirby.
[00:18:19] I'm sure you know.
[00:18:20] And there's a ton of other wonderful students that are involved in the Warren County High School Band.
[00:18:25] But, yes, we want to give them some love this morning.
[00:18:27] Thank you, guys.
[00:18:28] And thank you, Ms. Martin, for doing that.
[00:18:30] And Jamie Jaco, good morning.
[00:18:32] Good morning.
[00:18:32] And Ms. Jennifer Lattis, she's telling us about the Mercantile West, 40% to 60% off men's clearance sale.
[00:18:41] Oh, that's right.
[00:18:42] And they've got a lot of cool stuff.
[00:18:44] They do.
[00:18:44] They're no longer going to be carrying men's and, correct me if I'm wrong, Jennifer, and kids.
[00:18:48] They're just going to stick to women apparel and stuff.
[00:18:52] Well, us dudes, we just, you know.
[00:18:54] Their wives get you your stuff, right?
[00:18:56] Exactly.
[00:18:57] Well, we're not fancy.
[00:18:59] Or the term that you like to use.
[00:19:02] We're not bougie.
[00:19:03] Bougie.
[00:19:04] Well, we try not to be.
[00:19:05] I don't know.
[00:19:05] Can boys be bougie?
[00:19:07] I'm telling you, I have quite a few boys.
[00:19:09] I'm very bougie.
[00:19:10] Oh, never mind.
[00:19:11] There you go.
[00:19:12] You heard it from Megan.
[00:19:13] Boys can be bougie.
[00:19:14] We don't want people to know that, though.
[00:19:17] Shout out from Donna Carr this morning.
[00:19:20] We may know her.
[00:19:21] Hey, Mom.
[00:19:22] Good morning, Mom.
[00:19:24] Yes.
[00:19:24] She just, Jennifer confirmed it.
[00:19:26] Yes, they're going to be going back to women, Ollie.
[00:19:28] Not much kids are left.
[00:19:30] So, kids and men.
[00:19:31] If you have a man child or a child, you know, you should go and get them some clothes while
[00:19:37] they're at it.
[00:19:39] Kev, you want to go ahead and read that one?
[00:19:41] Yes.
[00:19:41] So, Kev posted this while we're talking about Scottie Keel and, you know, all the amazing
[00:19:46] things that his son is a part of with the wrestling team.
[00:19:49] But, Scottie Keel owns McMinnville Lawn and Garden.
[00:19:52] And, Kev said, Scotty and the team at McMinnville Lawn and Garden are amazing.
[00:19:56] They also redid all of the landscaping here at the end at True City.
[00:20:01] So, again, if you ever have any landscaping needs, mowing needs, I do believe that's what
[00:20:06] they can do for you.
[00:20:07] Or if you just want to go buy some trees, you can do that as well over there.
[00:20:12] One last thing.
[00:20:13] We do have decaf expressos at the well.
[00:20:16] Yes.
[00:20:16] All right.
[00:20:17] We have decaf coffee and, oh, at the well?
[00:20:20] Oh, as well.
[00:20:21] Sorry.
[00:20:22] So, he's doing some espresso drinks in the well.
[00:20:26] So, yes, we do have decaf espresso and decaf coffee.
[00:20:29] And we have different brewing methods.
[00:20:33] Like some people, we have a French press.
[00:20:35] Oh, nice.
[00:20:36] So, some people prefer that method because it makes a nice aromatic roast, like brewing
[00:20:44] process.
[00:20:45] Oh, that's so good.
[00:20:45] And so, we can do that at your request with regular coffee or the decaf.
[00:20:50] Okay.
[00:20:51] And then another thing, speaking of the well, I do know now that you guys are open, y'all
[00:20:56] are going to be, at the well, we'll be offering espresso martinis.
[00:21:01] Oh.
[00:21:02] Which will be.
[00:21:03] Oh, it will.
[00:21:04] Yeah.
[00:21:04] That's like the trending drink now with the youth is an espresso martini.
[00:21:08] I'm sure not.
[00:21:09] Yeah.
[00:21:10] But with that said, and Jennifer did say that if you're not local and you're watching this
[00:21:16] show, you can actually shop on our website at merchantilewest.com.
[00:21:19] Excellent.
[00:21:19] So, that's awesome.
[00:21:21] I love how to see our growing, you know, the businesses are now going more to the website
[00:21:28] stuff because people are shopping online more.
[00:21:31] I mean, that's a thing.
[00:21:33] But before we let you go, is there anything else you want to tell us?
[00:21:37] We also offer gift cards.
[00:21:39] Okay.
[00:21:39] So, we have those to purchase when, you know, if they come in and we can give those for the
[00:21:44] different holidays, birthdays, and so on.
[00:21:46] Or any function.
[00:21:47] And housewarming gifts, whatever the case might be.
[00:21:50] And what's beautiful about this is these folks aren't going anywhere.
[00:21:54] No.
[00:21:54] They didn't just come in from out of town.
[00:21:56] This is organic.
[00:21:57] This has grown through multiple businesses.
[00:22:00] So, thank you, Kevill, for building us a coffee shop.
[00:22:03] I can see in the background here, we're going to have Joey and Rachel and Phoebe and all these
[00:22:10] folks sitting here talking about, what's it called?
[00:22:13] The Daily Grind?
[00:22:14] Or the, what was the?
[00:22:15] Oh, the coffee shop?
[00:22:16] Yeah, yeah.
[00:22:16] Oh, my gosh.
[00:22:17] I have it as an ornament, too, and now I can't think of it.
[00:22:20] Guys, if you know what to do.
[00:22:21] I'm a huge friend.
[00:22:22] Put it on.
[00:22:23] Give us a comment.
[00:22:26] Let us know what the coffee shop and friends is called.
[00:22:29] Perk.
[00:22:30] Morning perk.
[00:22:31] I can't remember.
[00:22:32] But anyhow.
[00:22:33] I got the couch in my head.
[00:22:34] Yeah, I see all of the pictures.
[00:22:36] Oh, my gosh.
[00:22:36] I'm going to hate myself when I leave this because you just put me on.
[00:22:39] Oh, my gosh.
[00:22:40] Normally, nobody puts me on the spot.
[00:22:41] And I just, I love it.
[00:22:42] Oh, Kelly, I'm sorry.
[00:22:43] No, it's okay.
[00:22:44] It's okay.
[00:22:44] This is live.
[00:22:45] And that's the beautiful thing.
[00:22:46] And Kelly and I have to think on our feet.
[00:22:47] We're throwing questions at Megan.
[00:22:49] Thank you.
[00:22:49] Central Park.
[00:22:50] No, Central Perk.
[00:22:52] Perk.
[00:22:52] Oh.
[00:22:53] The Central Perk, yes.
[00:22:54] That's right.
[00:22:54] Thank you, Lori.
[00:22:56] Thank you guys for commenting this morning and keeping it going.
[00:23:01] Oh, there you go.
[00:23:02] Coffee shop.
[00:23:03] Now everybody's chiming in on it.
[00:23:05] Oh, yeah.
[00:23:05] Hey, we'll take all the comments we can get.
[00:23:08] That helps the algorithm out, guys.
[00:23:09] And we really appreciate that.
[00:23:10] We are local and we want to get things out to more people.
[00:23:13] So make sure to like and subscribe.
[00:23:15] Oh, everybody's chiming in.

[00:27:21] I mean, there's so many cool things that McMinnville has that Nashville and Murfreesboro offers.
[00:27:28] And look, guys, it's not just the scenery.
[00:27:30] It's the people.
[00:27:31] And that's what makes coming into a coffee shop and hanging out.
[00:27:34] Not everybody can go hang out in the bar.
[00:27:36] Yeah.
[00:27:37] And that's okay.
[00:27:38] Yeah.
[00:27:39] But people, I mean, my in-laws, they're huge coffee fans.
[00:27:43] Yeah.
[00:27:43] And they love to go to coffee shops and just go out and have a date and sit and talk and people watch and do things like that.
[00:27:51] So, yeah.
[00:27:52] I'm all about that.
[00:27:52] Buy.
[00:27:53] We need to start a program.
[00:27:54] Buy somebody a cup of coffee.
[00:27:56] I tell you what.
[00:27:57] Oh, yeah.
[00:27:57] If you want to, if you want to do after the show, set up a thing where we do like a randomizer or whatever.
[00:28:05] Oh, the number of randomizer again.
[00:28:06] I will buy somebody a cup of coffee.
[00:28:08] Okay.
[00:28:09] You know what?
[00:28:11] If you're watching this right now, on our feed alone right now, just type in hashtag coffee at the cafe.
[00:28:20] Then that will put you in for drawing.
[00:28:23] We will do a randomized and we'll let you know.
[00:28:26] But, hey, guys, thank you guys for watching live.
[00:28:28] We really appreciate it.
[00:28:30] Megan, thank you so much for being here today.
[00:28:33] We'll have Megan more in the future for other things to come.
[00:28:37] So, we're excited.
[00:28:38] Thank you for all this.
[00:28:39] Thanks for making me this.
[00:28:41] Thank you so much.
[00:28:41] God bless you.
[00:28:42] Yeah.
[00:28:43] Enjoy the rest of your day.
[00:28:45] Absolutely.
[00:28:45] I can't wait to see all the new stuff.
[00:28:47] Ta-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
[00:28:49] Transitioning.
[00:28:51] Yeah.
[00:28:51] Oh, I love it.
[00:28:54] No one told you that tomorrow.
[00:28:56] Well, oh, now I'm going to stop off.
[00:28:58] No one told you that.
[00:29:00] What?
[00:29:00] It's going to be this way.
[00:29:03] Yeah.
[00:29:04] I was thinking DOA.
[00:29:05] Your life is DOA.
[00:29:08] Yeah.
[00:29:09] Yeah.
[00:29:10] You know what?
[00:29:11] You know, just to add this on.
[00:29:13] Because, you know, we got to have friends.
[00:29:14] See, I'm a huge Friends fan, right?
[00:29:17] Yes.
[00:29:17] Kelly is a huge Friends fan.
[00:29:19] I am.
[00:29:20] And everybody used to call me.
[00:29:21] So, everybody's got to have a Rachel in their life.
[00:29:25] So, I just want everybody to know, Rachel is here with us today.
[00:29:29] Oh, we've got Rachel here at our own version of Central Pert.
[00:29:33] And I want you to know how big of a fan I was.
[00:29:35] And I didn't even know it at the time.
[00:29:36] She's not going to stay up.
[00:29:38] But, um, I got the Rachel haircut.
[00:29:40] Oh, sure enough.
[00:29:41] Oh.
[00:29:42] Sure did.
[00:29:42] Well, that was a very popular haircut.
[00:29:45] Wasn't a good choice for me at that age.
[00:29:48] No.
[00:29:48] No.
[00:29:48] I wasn't into getting my hair fixed and stuff.
[00:29:51] I mean, who else did the Rachel?
[00:29:53] I mean, I'm curious.
[00:29:53] Oh, my goodness.
[00:29:54] Okay.
[00:29:55] So, I was in.
[00:29:56] There it is.
[00:29:56] That's the Rachel haircut right there.
[00:29:58] I came to McMinnville, I guess, 2004 to do.
[00:30:03] Yeah.
[00:30:03] I did a LPN program here.
[00:30:05] And my teachers had awesome Rachel haircuts.
[00:30:08] Did they?
[00:30:08] I mean, they all look great.
[00:30:10] They, um, and they know who they are.
[00:30:12] Um, I won't call them out by name.
[00:30:14] But they had wonderful haircuts.
[00:30:15] Um, and not everybody can do that.
[00:30:17] It's like the beehive or something like that.
[00:30:19] It was just that trendy.
[00:30:20] Yeah, I couldn't do it.
[00:30:21] I didn't have enough volume and enough patience at the time.
[00:30:25] But getting back into the swing of things, of course, this is what's going on in Warren
[00:30:30] County.
[00:30:31] First and foremost, you know, uh, school closures this morning.
[00:30:35] And again, I want to say, I tried, and last night, if anybody kept up, I did not go
[00:30:40] to bed till after 1240 because I was trying to hear and wait to see if the Warren County
[00:30:46] school system was going to make any closures and things like that.
[00:30:50] And with that said, because I made a lot of posts last night as I was staying up with it.
[00:30:55] Um, as far as I knew, as I updated at 1240 AM this morning, the only ones that I'm aware
[00:31:03] of is DeKalb County, Cannon County, Grundy, White, and Van Burien County.
[00:31:09] Now, I did see that some people did post on here.
[00:31:14] Um, like they said, Cumberland County.
[00:31:17] So thanks, you know, uh, Christy Troglin that's following us that, uh, is not from here,
[00:31:23] but Cumberland County was closed.
[00:31:25] Um, let's see.
[00:31:26] And then, and I wanted to say shout out to Alex Mann.
[00:31:30] He's the one that was like any news on the Warren County public schools.
[00:31:34] And I said, Alex, sorry, but as of right now, my last check at 1240 AM, Warren County schools
[00:31:39] were scheduled to be on time.
[00:31:41] And then thank you to, I want to say a shout out to Marlene Lowry, Lowry or Lowerly.
[00:31:47] I can't say it right.
[00:31:48] She is a bus driver at Van Burien County.
[00:31:51] Yes, I saw that.
[00:31:52] And, uh, because I couldn't find it at the time when she posted it on News Channel 4 or
[00:31:56] 5 or any of the news outlets.
[00:31:58] And I said, well, how do you know?
[00:31:59] And she was a bus driver.
[00:32:00] So again, I say this all the time, Warren County or Warren First 931 is a community
[00:32:05] based program.
[00:32:06] And I want to say thank you for letting me know that that was going on.
[00:32:10] And then, um, and then I believe that was it as far as the comments go.
[00:32:14] Well, Kelly, we had a lot of shares with that post and a lot of people were keeping their
[00:32:17] eyes to Warren First to find out if you heard anything.
[00:32:20] Now, folks, we don't make the decisions.
[00:32:23] We do not.
[00:32:23] So don't shoot the messenger, but we would like to get this kind of information out,
[00:32:26] but it would help if the Warren County schools, especially if neighboring school systems
[00:32:30] are closing to make a statement saying whether they're planning on closing or not.
[00:32:34] Because I had a lot of parents staying up all night.
[00:32:38] I had kids stayed up all night thinking that they were going to be out the next day.
[00:32:41] And come up with a plan B in case of, right?
[00:32:43] Yes.
[00:32:43] And I was thinking, you know, we were talking with Joe and Sam and I'm like, if anything,
[00:32:47] maybe a two hour delay.
[00:32:49] Yeah.
[00:32:49] Just to be on the safe side.
[00:32:50] But at the same time, you know, this isn't the first time.
[00:32:55] Well, actually, this is the first time.
[00:32:56] And I want to say, I know that the Warren County school system and Dr.
[00:32:59] Swallows does the best they can.
[00:33:01] But normally I've seen them send out like, we're looking at the weather.
[00:33:05] We're monitoring it.
[00:33:06] We'll let you know by da-da-da.
[00:33:08] Now, I know we have a communications director now.
[00:33:10] We do.
[00:33:10] I don't know.
[00:33:11] Maybe that got lost between the director and whoever did it before.
[00:33:15] But yeah, yeah, it would help guys.
[00:33:17] If you did, just let us know.
[00:33:20] That'd be a great help.
[00:33:21] So thank you guys for all the people who were posting and reposting the Warren first
[00:33:26] and everybody kind of helping each other stay in tune to what's going on.
[00:33:30] Now, another, this is like going on in Warren County and it's also a hot topic.
[00:33:35] I have to do a combo with this because it's getting a lot of praise and a lot of flack.
[00:33:40] Okay.
[00:33:40] So it's a hit or miss.
[00:33:41] But after we got done with the show yesterday, which I'm going to be on the sad side about
[00:33:47] it.
[00:33:48] I hate to see it go, but I'm curious to see what's going to happen with it now.
[00:33:52] But thank you to Caitlin McCormick.
[00:33:55] She was one part of the Wild Bill's barbecue grill that kept that running with her and her
[00:34:00] family.
[00:34:01] And she posted the visual of the VFW getting tore down to pieces.
[00:34:09] And, you know, a lot of things and I'm going to like, just like I did last time, I'm going
[00:34:14] to go back and talk with, I believe it was the water department folks.
[00:34:19] That's going to be over that.
[00:34:21] I'm going to talk to him again and see what the game plan is for the ramp for the spring
[00:34:27] and summer future of kayakers, boaters.
[00:34:31] I don't know, you know, that's the big topic right now that I was hearing all day yesterday
[00:34:36] is with this being tore down now and the process of rebuilding for the city and county stuff.
[00:34:42] Are we going to be able to use the boat ramp?
[00:34:44] Well, you know, we probably need to have somebody like Jimmy Barker or Mickey Heath or somebody
[00:34:50] to come in because their business is really dependent on that ramp and knowing what the future holds
[00:34:56] for that and everything.
[00:34:58] But look, the VFW iconic in McMinnville back when we were at Dry County was one of the few
[00:35:03] places that you could go get liquor by the drink.
[00:35:06] That's correct.
[00:35:07] And so a lot of power moves in Warren County happened at the VFW, especially on Friday
[00:35:12] and Saturday nights when they served steak.
[00:35:15] That was like the nursery man's favorite thing to do is to go to the VFW because not everybody
[00:35:19] was members at the country club.
[00:35:21] Right.
[00:35:21] So, yeah.
[00:35:22] Because you had to be a member back in the day and now it's open to the public with now
[00:35:26] of course it being Helen's on the, hot G is what they're calling it.
[00:35:30] Sorry.
[00:35:30] Hot G.
[00:35:31] I'm trying to remember everything right now.
[00:35:33] Hot G.
[00:35:35] But with that said, you can see the videos of one of the places of the history being torn
[00:35:41] down.
[00:35:42] We posted that yesterday.
[00:35:44] But everybody wants to know like when did it sell?
[00:35:47] How did it sell?
[00:35:48] I want to say over the summer, because I didn't pull up the article and I should have
[00:35:53] when I talked to the actual correspondent with this.
[00:35:55] And he let me know that because Scotty Keel did originally own that property.
[00:36:02] He was the one that bought it.
[00:36:03] And then Wild Bill's Barbecue was renting it from him.
[00:36:06] And then the last, well, actually it would have been, I think this time last year, because
[00:36:13] Caitlin could probably correct me on it, but they had just 30 days to get, you know, let
[00:36:19] their customers know that they're shutting down because there was a transition in the water
[00:36:24] department buying it through Scotty.
[00:36:27] And a lot of people were like, well, we didn't hear about it.
[00:36:29] We didn't see it.
[00:36:30] I didn't hear about it and see it.
[00:36:31] But if you go and look back at the meetings, because now I am starting to watch the city
[00:36:36] and aldermen and all these meetings with the government, the city of McMinnville government's
[00:36:41] page, you've got to go and watch these videos.
[00:36:44] You've got to listen to them very carefully.
[00:36:47] But in one of those meetings, it was discussed where they seconded it, they motioned it.
[00:36:51] So it did go through the process.
[00:36:54] But as far as getting known to the community, it was very hush hush.
[00:37:00] I will say that because again, I get to hear a lot of stuff.
[00:37:03] You get to hear a lot of stuff.
[00:37:04] But when this property got, was talked about, about purchasing and things, it wasn't talked
[00:37:11] about a lot.
[00:37:12] It wasn't.
[00:37:13] And I don't know if it's because people didn't think it was like a hot top, you know, at
[00:37:17] the time.
[00:37:17] But then this is what I always tell people.
[00:37:20] If you want things done a certain way in the community, you know, you've got to go and
[00:37:27] vote.
[00:37:27] Voting is very important.
[00:37:29] The people in these seats.
[00:37:30] And I'm not saying that our aldermen and mayor and, you know, our city officials are doing
[00:37:34] wrong.
[00:37:35] But if you don't like what's going on, you have to make sure who's in.
[00:37:38] And you have to voice your opinion and let people know.
[00:37:41] And so, yeah, some people are sad and guys, it's an old building.
[00:37:48] It is an old building.
[00:37:49] And I don't know how good the bones are.
[00:37:51] Yeah.
[00:37:52] So I didn't look in, I didn't dig into that.
[00:37:54] And maybe they did.
[00:37:55] And maybe it was time.
[00:37:56] And, you know, maybe the best thing for the next venture for that piece of property to
[00:38:01] be is to do something in honor of or in memory of, you know, maybe keeping the flags
[00:38:06] or, you know, like how they are in putting a bit of, you know, something.
[00:38:10] Well, and a lot of things.
[00:38:11] I went to a funeral this weekend.
[00:38:14] One of my cousins passed away.
[00:38:15] And it was sad.
[00:38:18] But I know where he is.
[00:38:20] I'm not worried about that.
[00:38:22] He was a very spiritual man and wonderful, wonderful that he was a veteran on top of
[00:38:30] everything.
[00:38:31] And he worked with the VA system.
[00:38:32] He worked for the state.
[00:38:34] And he had the full military funeral.
[00:38:36] And it was so wonderful to see these gentlemen.
[00:38:40] The, I guess they call it 21 gun salute where they fired.
[00:38:44] They shoot them in the air.
[00:38:45] Yes.
[00:38:45] And the folding of the flag that was draped over the casket.
[00:38:48] It was beautiful to see.
[00:38:49] But most of those gentlemen that made up that honor corps, the VFW honor corps, they're older,
[00:38:58] a lot older.
[00:38:59] And so it's unusual from what we're used to at our age seeing this.
[00:39:05] And I don't know if there's younger people that are going to take on these tasks.
[00:39:09] So the VFW was not being used what it was originally intended for.
[00:39:12] And people were trying.
[00:39:14] I mean, you know, you got wild bills.
[00:39:16] I mean, again, if you want to see things stay, you have to be involved in this community
[00:39:22] some form or form.
[00:39:23] And you have to support your local community.
[00:39:25] And so that's one of the things that, when Scotty bought it from whoever owned the VFW beforehand.
[00:39:35] The veterans piece.
[00:39:38] Okay.
[00:39:38] It was definitely a private.
[00:39:39] Because it was privately owned for so long.
[00:39:42] Or not private.
[00:39:43] It wasn't private.
[00:39:44] I don't know how you.
[00:39:45] It was publicly known that that was the place for that veteran troop.
[00:39:49] And I can't think of it.
[00:39:50] And Tom Davis was a part of it.
[00:39:52] But if the water department offers you a boatload of money to buy it, which we don't know.
[00:39:57] This is just conjecture on our part.
[00:39:59] But if they offer you money and it's a good amount of money, at the end of the day, it's not personal.
[00:40:05] Let me say this.
[00:40:06] It's just business.
[00:40:08] Yes.
[00:40:08] Scotty Kiel has done really well in business.
[00:40:11] And he is coming.
[00:40:12] You were just talking about it.
[00:40:13] He was your teacher.
[00:40:14] He was my teacher.
[00:40:15] And look.
[00:40:16] Computer.
[00:40:17] Of course, he was gifted in other things.
[00:40:19] So shout out to Scotty Kiel.
[00:40:21] Look, whatever comes, it's going to happen.
[00:40:23] But yeah, I'd love to have the Barker Brothers or Mimi Heath or somebody from Smooth Rapids to let us know what the plans are.
[00:40:31] Maybe if we can get somebody.
[00:40:33] And we can, which that reminds me, we're gearing up for the big one-year celebration party.
[00:40:39] And maybe if I could get some, get the Smooth Rapids boys over here with the water department guys.
[00:40:47] Oh, that would be awesome.
[00:40:48] And just so we're all, so there's clarity.
[00:40:50] Because I know everybody's wanting to know that.
[00:40:52] And I promise you, when I find out what the story is and I get the facts all straightened up, you'll get it.
[00:40:58] And that's also why you guys need to be a part of the text club.
[00:41:01] Because when I find out something, I shoot it out on that text club as well.
[00:41:06] Whether it's about the DA.
[00:41:08] Whether it's about, you know, the Morrison shooting.
[00:41:10] What else have I sent out on that?
[00:41:12] School closures.
[00:41:13] If you want to be a part of the text club that is everything and then some.
[00:41:18] It's not just one thing.
[00:41:19] It's everything that goes on on the show.
[00:41:21] You've got to text that number, 810102, or in the message saying, at Warren931.
[00:41:30] Because if you want all these updates, you've got to do that.
[00:41:33] And if you are, while I'm thinking about it, a part of the original text club that I did through the Google voice service,
[00:41:40] which is 931-305-0869, you have got to switch over.
[00:41:46] Because I had 88 to 100 people on this text club.
[00:41:50] And I had to individually copy and paste.
[00:41:52] Oh, yeah.
[00:41:53] I can't do that.
[00:41:54] So this is through the Remind app?
[00:41:56] This is through the Remind app.
[00:41:57] So if you already have it, it sets up.
[00:42:00] And then I go on.
[00:42:01] And you get on a pending request.
[00:42:03] And then I let you through.
[00:42:05] Because I don't want spam.
[00:42:06] Oh, yeah.
[00:42:07] So I have to be cautious of that.
[00:42:09] And I want to also say thank you to everybody that's on my page when I post stuff.
[00:42:14] And they're like, spam alert.
[00:42:16] And then they tagged me.
[00:42:17] And last night, I took off free spammers.
[00:42:20] All right.
[00:42:21] Hey, guys.
[00:42:22] Get over here, Shelly Miller.
[00:42:25] Yes.
[00:42:26] Miller Photography.
[00:42:28] Good to see you.
[00:42:33] Did you have a good sweet spot?
[00:42:34] I did.
[00:42:35] Did y'all have a good one?
[00:42:36] Yeah, we did.
[00:42:36] See, I was so rogue.
[00:42:37] I go all the time.
[00:42:38] I see squirrel.
[00:42:39] Squirrel.
[00:42:41] So do y'all have anything up and coming for photo shoots and more?
[00:42:44] Let's see.
[00:42:45] We have club day on Thursday at the Warren County High School.
[00:42:49] Okay.
[00:42:50] So if you're a parent and it's club day, you better make them dress right.
[00:42:54] Yeah.
[00:42:54] And then let's see.
[00:42:56] We have headshot day coming up.
[00:42:59] February.
[00:43:00] Is there like those business headshots y'all do?
[00:43:03] Yeah.
[00:43:03] Okay.
[00:43:04] Business headshots.
[00:43:04] And then let's see what else we got.
[00:43:06] We're going to the inauguration.
[00:43:08] Oh, wow.
[00:43:09] I'm jealous.
[00:43:11] January 20th.
[00:43:13] It is adorable.
[00:43:14] We're tasting our clothes out.
[00:43:16] I see all news time.
[00:43:18] Yeah.
[00:43:18] So we're excited about going to the inauguration.
[00:43:21] Take teachers for us.
[00:43:23] Oh, it will.
[00:43:23] Yeah.
[00:43:23] You could be our eyesight recorder.
[00:43:25] There you go.
[00:43:26] We'll let you know how it is when we get back.
[00:43:28] Okay.
[00:43:28] And so we're excited about that.
[00:43:30] And then we're hitting it.
[00:43:32] Ground running.
[00:43:33] Yeah.
[00:43:33] With spring photos.
[00:43:34] Okay.
[00:43:35] So if you need spring photos, then call Miller Photography.
[00:43:38] They're amazing.
[00:43:41] Do you guys have to be weddings?
[00:43:42] No.
[00:43:43] No.
[00:43:43] No.
[00:43:43] So no weddings.
[00:43:45] Let me tell you.
[00:43:46] They don't do weddings.
[00:43:47] And they don't do baby shots or maternity shots, right?
[00:43:52] Not really.
[00:43:53] Yeah.
[00:43:53] Unless you're like me and you're off cuff, okay?
[00:43:57] I was like, I talked her into this, by the way, guys.
[00:44:01] So the shots for my maternity was all through her.
[00:44:04] And they did amazing.
[00:44:06] We had a great time.
[00:44:06] Yeah.
[00:44:07] I can't even tell.
[00:44:08] How old is she now?
[00:44:08] Two.
[00:44:09] That's crazy.
[00:44:10] I know.
[00:44:10] I feel like we just did.
[00:44:11] I know.
[00:44:12] I debated on like calling y'all for her like third or fifth, you know, when she turns to
[00:44:17] the next stage and like do like redo shots.
[00:44:20] Like this used to be here.
[00:44:21] Oh, that's amazing.
[00:44:22] I've got a superhero background.
[00:44:25] Oh, she loves Henry Danger.
[00:44:27] I would love for her to be dressed in fun.
[00:44:30] Oh, yeah.
[00:44:30] Let's do that.
[00:44:31] Okay.
[00:44:31] Let's do that.
[00:44:31] We'll call.
[00:44:32] We'll call.
[00:44:32] That sounds fun.
[00:44:33] We'll call my people.
[00:44:34] Your people call my people.
[00:44:34] Okay.
[00:44:35] All right.
[00:44:36] Brian, get on that.
[00:44:37] Yes.
[00:44:37] I got it.
[00:44:38] See, this is why I love my show.
[00:44:40] Anybody can come in and talk.
[00:44:41] But you can too.
[00:44:43] You can too.
[00:44:44] You find out where we're going to be and we try to announce.
[00:44:46] So, Rita actually sees you said, what's the text alert info again?
[00:44:50] So, it's right here, Rita.
[00:44:53] See?
[00:44:53] Well, I can't point to it.
[00:44:55] If you look to the corner.
[00:44:56] Look at my finger.
[00:44:58] Damn.
[00:44:59] Right there.
[00:44:59] It's right there.
[00:45:00] So, you text at Warren931 to the number 81010.
[00:45:06] It's a remind app.
[00:45:08] And then it's going to prompt you.
[00:45:10] If you're not a part of the remind app, it's going to prompt you and you just follow the directions.
[00:45:15] Okay?
[00:45:15] And I'll make sure you get everything and anything.
[00:45:18] Because I don't like overloading you guys with stuff.
[00:45:21] But the important stuff that I want you to know about, like school closings, weather alerts.
[00:45:26] Because we also do storm coverage on here when the storm hits bad.
[00:45:31] Because right now, I'm gearing up for Friday.
[00:45:34] Because Friday is supposed to be coming in really hard.
[00:45:38] Yes.
[00:45:38] And I'll tell you, I just got to.
[00:45:40] I was going to show folks how to join the text club.
[00:45:43] But even the hospitals are preparing for inclement weather coming in this Friday.
[00:45:49] And so, we want to make sure that everybody is aware of that.
[00:45:52] So, keep alert on Warren1st931.
[00:45:55] This would be a great thing.
[00:45:56] Tell your friends to get on this text club.
[00:45:58] I'll show you how easy it is.
[00:46:00] It's super easy.
[00:46:01] And I hate to show people.
[00:46:03] Oh, here's the thing.
[00:46:04] But I'm going to new text.
[00:46:07] New text.
[00:46:08] Yeah.
[00:46:08] All right.
[00:46:09] So, I'm going to type in.
[00:46:12] Yeah, you can throw it in.
[00:46:13] Eight.
[00:46:14] I'll back up.
[00:46:15] One.
[00:46:15] Zero.
[00:46:16] I'll get out of the screen.
[00:46:18] So, I can get right to you.
[00:46:19] One.
[00:46:19] Zero.
[00:46:20] All right.
[00:46:23] So, 81010.
[00:46:24] Hope you see that on there.
[00:46:26] Now, we're going to type in.
[00:46:29] Come on.
[00:46:30] Come on.
[00:46:31] Yeah, now it brings me back.
[00:46:32] See?
[00:46:32] Bye-bye.
[00:46:33] Now, and I've done this before.
[00:46:34] So, it recognizes the Remind app.
[00:46:36] And I'm going to type in at.
[00:46:39] Warren.
[00:46:40] Lower.
[00:46:41] No caps.
[00:46:42] 931.
[00:46:44] Warren.
[00:46:47] 931.
[00:46:48] Okay.
[00:46:49] So, at Warren 931.
[00:46:55] And it looks backwards to me.
[00:46:56] I got you, Rita.
[00:46:58] All right.
[00:46:59] I got you, Sarah.
[00:47:00] Look at that.
[00:47:01] See?
[00:47:02] Look.
[00:47:02] There it goes.
[00:47:03] I sent it.
[00:47:04] And I've got a response message back.
[00:47:06] And then look.
[00:47:07] Now, just approve Brian.
[00:47:09] I'm in.
[00:47:10] He's in.
[00:47:10] See how easy that was?
[00:47:12] So, again, if you want to be a part of that, super simple, super easy.
[00:47:16] And talking about the weather that we are monitoring, if you're not following us, I did share this last night.
[00:47:23] Oh, see?
[00:47:24] And now Sarah Carr.
[00:47:25] Yep.
[00:47:25] She got on.
[00:47:26] Everybody's getting on.
[00:47:27] The U.S. National Weather Service Nashville, Tennessee Facebook page I follow because they're pretty spot on about what's going on.
[00:47:35] So, some of y'all are getting really excited about the forecast for snow on Friday.
[00:47:39] And why not?
[00:47:41] YOLO!
[00:47:42] The setup has begun with very cold air moving into the region over the next few days.
[00:47:47] Most of us will have the lows in the teens and in the highs of the 30s.
[00:47:52] And we've already talked about the weather.
[00:47:53] And thanks again to Reddick Brown, Ford, for being our sponsors.
[00:47:56] We'll talk more about what's coming up for the McMinnville forecast here in just a few.
[00:48:02] But with that said, that's going to be around 15 degrees below normal for those keeping a score at home.
[00:48:07] The big action will commence on Friday into Saturday as a classic gulf low pressure system, which is bringing in the snow from Texas to mid-Atlantic, including the possible blanket of a winter wonderland all across Middle Tennessee.
[00:48:25] So, I have a feeling that between Friday and Saturday, we are going to be covered in snow.
[00:48:32] I don't know how many inches right now.
[00:48:34] But with that said, it is still a little soon for us to pinpoint exact amounts or ranges.
[00:48:39] So, we continue to look at the computer statistics and probabilities.
[00:48:43] The main stat is that they're highlighting this morning is the potential of greater than two inches of snow, which, and that's normal.
[00:48:52] That's always like the average.
[00:48:54] And plus, the weather may change because Mother Nature has a mind of her own if you don't love her and hug her and give her chocolates or give her maco lattes.
[00:49:04] Oh, this is great for Valentine's Day coming up and our new holidays.
[00:49:10] You know about the new holiday, right?
[00:49:12] What's the new holiday?
[00:49:14] Galentine's Day.
[00:49:15] Oh, yeah.
[00:49:15] Oh, yes.
[00:49:15] Yeah, I do Galentine's Day.
[00:49:16] I was like, what new holiday?
[00:49:18] Oh, well, it's new to me.
[00:49:20] I'm the last one to the party all the time.
[00:49:22] Okay.
[00:49:23] I don't know.
[00:49:23] What would you call?
[00:49:24] And then, of course, the Singles Day.
[00:49:26] There's a Singles Day.
[00:49:27] Is that the day after?
[00:49:28] Yeah, that's the day after, yes.
[00:49:30] There's Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day, Singles Day.
[00:49:34] Yeah.
[00:49:35] Well, I'll tell you, one of the traditional things that they do every year here in Menville,
[00:49:38] we're very blessed to live in such a tight-knit community, but the daddy-daughter dance that they do.
[00:49:43] Oh, yeah, that's coming up.
[00:49:44] That's always generally the weekend before Valentine's Day.
[00:49:47] And I've got daughters.
[00:49:49] We've gone before.
[00:49:51] It's wonderful.
[00:49:52] Especially if you have young girls, young daughters, they feel like a princess.
[00:49:56] They get all dolled up.
[00:49:57] They do.
[00:49:57] They serve food that everybody can eat.
[00:49:59] And they dance.
[00:50:01] Oh, they dance.
[00:50:01] We need to get Ann Vance on the show.
[00:50:04] Yes, Ann Vance or Hunter or anybody from the bank that's over the decorating committee.
[00:50:09] Come on.
[00:50:09] I love Ann Vance.
[00:50:11] She is one of my favorite people in the entire world.
[00:50:13] She's great.
[00:50:14] Her and her husband, Jeff, are just wonderful, wonderful people.
[00:50:16] Movers and shakers.
[00:50:18] If anybody can get Ann Vance to come in and sit in with me, especially because I want to be here to see it,
[00:50:24] please let her know.
[00:50:25] So text her, tag her, do whatever it takes.
[00:50:29] I may go stalk her this week.
[00:50:30] Fine.
[00:50:31] If she needs some coffee, we'll get her over.
[00:50:35] But no.
[00:50:35] Because currently right now, starting yesterday, two big events are going on in the month of February that just started selling tickets yesterday.
[00:50:42] First and foremost, just like you said, the First National Bank, their annual father-daughter dance is coming up in February.
[00:50:49] I can't tell you the date.
[00:50:50] I want to say it's the first weekend.
[00:50:54] Is it the first weekend?
[00:50:55] I think it's the second.
[00:50:56] I think that's that weekend.
[00:50:58] Yes.
[00:50:58] Yeah.
[00:50:59] The first weekend, the first official Saturday in February.
[00:51:02] And so tickets are on sale as of yesterday to the public, I do believe.
[00:51:07] And then another father-daughter and a mother-son combo.
[00:51:12] Uh-oh.
[00:51:13] Covenant Academy is doomed because mothers and sons get knocked out.
[00:51:17] And I have a son.
[00:51:18] And me and my son are extra.
[00:51:20] And we like to dance.
[00:51:21] And I know not everybody has a son like that.
[00:51:24] But I do.
[00:51:25] And we like going.
[00:51:26] And he's like, Daddy, why can't I go?
[00:51:28] And so what originally was happening before they comboed it, they always called it the father-daughter dance.
[00:51:33] And families were coming to the covenant dance.
[00:51:35] Okay.
[00:51:36] And so now they're just doing it as a, like, all together.
[00:51:39] Bring your sons.
[00:51:40] Bring your daughters.
[00:51:41] Bring your moms.
[00:51:41] Your dads.
[00:51:42] Your grandmas.
[00:51:42] Your grandpas.
[00:51:43] All that stuff.
[00:51:44] Aunts.
[00:51:44] Uncles.
[00:51:45] Make it a family event.
[00:51:46] And it's going to be a combo.
[00:51:47] And that's going to be on March the 25th.
[00:51:50] Tickets are on sale now as well.
[00:51:52] You can get tickets through me, through the school, Beth Jenkins.
[00:51:56] And they're only $35 a ticket.
[00:51:58] And then after you buy your first one, it's $5 off after that.
[00:52:02] So $5 off for any additional, I should say, ticket.
[00:52:05] But again, it's two separate times.
[00:52:07] So if you just want to be a father-daughter, go to, you know, the First National Banquet.
[00:52:12] Or if you want to do a whole family thing with a mother-son, father-daughter, go to the Covenant Academy one.
[00:52:17] Two great events.
[00:52:19] You know, and this is one of our, for Covenant Academy, it's one of our biggest events.
[00:52:22] It's fundraisers.
[00:52:22] Well, I'll tell you, when I went the one time, because I have twin daughters.
[00:52:27] Yeah.
[00:52:28] I took them.
[00:52:28] And I actually, I could only dance with one of them at a time.
[00:52:31] Oh, bless your heart.
[00:52:32] So I asked my youngest brother.
[00:52:34] Problems.
[00:52:34] Hashtag problems.
[00:52:35] Oh, yeah.
[00:52:36] I asked my awesome younger brother, Patrick, to come in.
[00:52:40] Yeah.
[00:52:41] And he stepped in.
[00:52:42] And it was awesome.
[00:52:44] We danced.
[00:52:45] Those little girls had the best time.
[00:52:47] But there were some, I don't want to say older girls, but more mature women that were there with their dads.
[00:52:53] And they had the best time, too.
[00:52:55] My dad, we went to one and he was like, I'm done after this.
[00:52:59] But I got them on the dance floor at my wedding.
[00:53:01] So that all, that all counts.
[00:53:03] Yeah.
[00:53:03] Awesome.
[00:53:04] But, again, so many opportunities for the February.
[00:53:08] Like I said, February has a ton of events going on.
[00:53:10] So make sure you're following us on Facebook and Instagram and YouTube and all that jazz.
[00:53:15] I do want to say a shout out to Chris Cope and them.
[00:53:17] And I want to shout out to Thunder Radio 107.9 FM.
[00:53:21] They did this last year at a basketball game for the McMinnville Special Games.
[00:53:25] They're doing it again.
[00:53:26] All right.
[00:53:27] But it's going to be for the McMinnville Special Games and the Dream for Weave Foundation.
[00:53:34] It's getting kids into the game.
[00:53:36] So they're going to split, I believe, the proceeds up like they did last time.
[00:53:40] But what that says, get ready for a thrilling event.
[00:53:43] The Warren County and the Coffee County Charity Charge Point Challenge is back for another year.
[00:53:50] And this is going to be hosted at Coffee County on Friday, February the 7th.
[00:53:55] Building on last year's success where the contributions made a significant impact on two charities.
[00:54:02] They're aiming to even get higher this year.
[00:54:04] Once again, inviting you to pledge $1 or more per point scored by the Warren County Pioneers and Lady Pioneers as a token of appreciation.
[00:54:15] Participants will receive a T-shirt with designs currently in the works.
[00:54:19] Blue for Warren County and red for Coffee County.
[00:54:22] So stay tuned for more details.
[00:54:23] And let's show everyone how much good comes out of Highway 55.
[00:54:28] Drop your name and pledge in the comments.
[00:54:30] I think if I remember last year, it almost raised or did raise over $20,000.
[00:54:36] Oh, nice.
[00:54:37] Yeah.
[00:54:37] And again, it split amongst the two charities.
[00:54:40] We all know what the McMinnville Special Games, what it helps to.
[00:54:44] Holly and them doing a phenomenal job and her staff.
[00:54:47] But the Dream for Weave Foundation, from what I remember, it helps like with scholarships with kids that play sports because the name Weave is a coach from there that passed away.
[00:54:59] Okay.
[00:54:59] And so that's what the foundation is for.
[00:55:02] But again, this is going to be not here locally.
[00:55:04] It's going to be at Coffee County High School on February the 7th.
[00:55:09] And it starts at 6 p.m.
[00:55:11] And so if you want to do a point challenge, you don't have to be there to participate.
[00:55:15] You just make a pledge, like they said, on the text club.
[00:55:18] And then it's the honor system after that.
[00:55:21] And a lot of businesses now, do you know why they started this?
[00:55:25] No.
[00:55:25] Okay.
[00:55:26] So last year, there was a lot of heat on Highway 55 about like, it was a negative thing.
[00:55:36] I don't want to get back into it.
[00:55:37] But something negative turned into a positive.
[00:55:41] So instead of the business owners and people being ugly about it here in Warren County, they spend it and did a point system to split the proceeds.
[00:55:49] Oh, good deal.
[00:55:49] And this is what happened.
[00:55:51] And Thunder Radio was one huge part of how it got the word out.
[00:55:54] And the first business actually that started it was Prater's Barbecue.
[00:55:59] Oh, wow.
[00:55:59] And then when it started rolling, it just started trinkling to other businesses, challenging other businesses with three points and all this stuff.
[00:56:07] And then, of course, then individuals participated in it.
[00:56:10] So with that said, you never know a negative can be turned into a positive quicker than you can imagine.
[00:56:17] Well, it's amazing how life works like that.
[00:56:19] Yes.
[00:56:20] Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention.
[00:56:23] And so we're very blessed here in Warren County to have people with good hearts and say, hey, wait, this is getting a little out of hand.
[00:56:29] Let's do something.
[00:56:30] So thank you, Chris Cope and the different folks that are working with this.
[00:56:34] It is a blessing.
[00:56:36] And thank you, Kelly, for bringing my attention.
[00:56:39] Yeah.
[00:56:40] A lot of people don't know it.
[00:56:41] This is the second.
[00:56:42] It should be called the second annual, essentially, because that's what it is.
[00:56:45] But real quickly, so we can wrap up.
[00:56:47] Are you listening, Warren County?
[00:56:49] So we can get into hot topics and what's going on in America.
[00:56:52] Real fast.
[00:56:53] The Hitch Outfitters is having their winter clearance sale, just like everybody else.
[00:56:57] Another shout out to Merchantile West.
[00:57:00] She's got her menswear on sale going on right now.
[00:57:02] We talked about it just a minute ago, just to reiterate the Park Theater this Saturday.
[00:57:08] If you do not have tickets for the January 11th, the ultimate oldies rock and roll show.
[00:57:12] If you have not seen it, I've been to three of them.
[00:57:15] Not just here at the Park Theater, but when they've been in Manchester and other places.
[00:57:19] It is a phenomenal show.
[00:57:20] If you love the oldies, the good old rock and roll back in the day, like Splish Flash, I was taking a bath.
[00:57:27] So 50s rock?
[00:57:28] It's a mix.
[00:57:29] It is a mix.
[00:57:30] If you are an old school oldie like me that likes a whole mix of stuff, you will not be disappointed.
[00:57:37] And if you want an early Valentine's Day gift, there you go.
[00:57:41] And tickets are on sale.
[00:57:42] You can click on the link online.
[00:57:45] Show starts at 7 this Saturday.
[00:57:47] We did talk about Valentine's Day, and my heart always goes out to nursing homes and health and rehabilitation facilities.
[00:57:54] And Willow Branch is one of them.
[00:57:56] And they do.
[00:57:57] They're not just the only one.
[00:57:58] And NHC, all the ones in our county do so much for their clients and their patients.
[00:58:04] And Willow Branch is hosting a Valentine's Day party for residents and their family on Thursday, February the 13th from 4 to 6.
[00:58:13] They're having a special spaghetti dinner that's going to be served.
[00:58:17] And so if you want to reserve your spot, the cutoff is by February the 6th.
[00:58:22] So between now and February the 6th, you need to call and make your reservation so you can reserve that spot.
[00:58:28] Continuing talking about Christmas and winter sales, Wink Skin Care is doing a 40% off Christmas sale.
[00:58:33] Make sure you check them out.
[00:58:35] Highlands Elite with the weather.
[00:58:36] I should have talked about this when we talked about weather.
[00:58:38] But cold weather recommendations.
[00:58:42] We did it last night.
[00:58:43] We had, if there is any water pipes that is close to the outside walls of your home, it is a good thing.
[00:58:52] And a good thing to do is to turn on your faucet to a drip so your pipes do not freeze.
[00:58:59] Especially with this weekend coming up with more freezer temps, you will need to do it.
[00:59:03] So if you have, even if you have new pipes, because of course old pipes you need to do it like I do.
[00:59:09] Make sure you ensure that your faucets, outdoor pipes, and pipes in an unheated area are adequately insulated to prevent freezing.
[00:59:18] In the event of an emergency, wrapping them with materials such as rags, newspapers, trash bags, plastic foam, bubble wrap can provide additional protection.
[00:59:28] And additionally, it is important to cover any vents around the foundation of your home.
[00:59:33] And remember to drain water hoses and store them in a garage or shed to prevent damage.
[00:59:39] So if you don't want your hose to get damaged, you might want to put them up just in case.
[00:59:43] And thanks to Highland Elite, real estate, they posted that yesterday.
[00:59:47] And I wanted to share that with you guys.
[00:59:50] And then, of course, with that said, we're going to take a quick break.
[00:59:53] And then we're going to come back on the show because News Channel 5 brought up some more hot topic about new updates on the district attorney, Chris Stanford.
[01:00:05] And like we said yesterday, and I know we have reached out.
[01:00:08] You know, anybody is always welcome to come on our show to clarify, seek some clarity because this is a neutral zone in here.
[01:00:17] And especially when there's coffee involved, it's all neutral.
[01:00:20] It's all neutral.
[01:00:21] But we're going to do a quick word from our sponsors, and we'll be right back with what's going on in America and what's the hot topic.
[01:00:28] Thank you.
[01:00:28] Are you ready for your new Ford?

[01:02:46] 5.
[01:02:47] And so if you want to come and sit and do like your homework, book or school, I say schoolwork now, but I'm out of that.
[01:02:54] If you want to come out here and just do some online stuff, you can sit here all day, enjoy great pubs of coffee.
[01:03:00] And again, if you're not a big coffee drinker like myself, I've literally just found my coffee drink.
[01:03:05] Because I cannot taste the coffee at all.
[01:03:08] And like she said, you know, it's freshly ground right here in the store.
[01:03:14] Their whipped cream is made here in the store.
[01:03:16] You can tell a difference from store-bought to freshly made.
[01:03:20] This is the real thing, folks.
[01:03:22] This is deeply brewed coffee.
[01:03:25] And you get it in different varieties.
[01:03:26] You can get an Americano.
[01:03:27] You can get a full espresso.
[01:03:29] You can get the sweeter drinks.
[01:03:31] I actually got the menu.
[01:03:31] The caramel macchiato.
[01:03:33] The vanilla or chocolate mocha latte.
[01:03:38] So they have a little bit of everything.
[01:03:39] They really do.
[01:03:40] So like he has the Americano, which is an espresso with hot water.
[01:03:44] They have, I'm going to say the brief.
[01:03:46] Is that how you would say that?
[01:03:47] They have a cappuccino, caramel macchiato, espresso, espresso con panas.
[01:03:53] I think that's just with cream.
[01:03:54] Espresso with cream, though.
[01:03:56] Yeah, that is.
[01:03:57] Espresso with whipped cream.
[01:03:58] There you go.
[01:03:59] Look at you, coffee.
[01:04:01] Oh, it's all my beautiful wife.
[01:04:02] She is the coffee and her wonderful family.
[01:04:06] Now, they're from Mississippi.
[01:04:09] And they have a tie to the coast in the New Orleans, Louisiana area.
[01:04:14] And down there, they drink coffee with chicory in it.
[01:04:19] So they drink Cafe Du Monde, which is, if you've ever been down to New Orleans,
[01:04:27] everybody goes and has the beignets and Cafe Du Monde, the Cafe Du Monde coffee.
[01:04:33] So, yeah.
[01:04:34] I'll take your word on that.
[01:04:35] It's good stuff.
[01:04:36] It sounds fancy and bougie.
[01:04:37] Well.
[01:04:38] That sounds bougie, Brian.
[01:04:41] When in Rome.
[01:04:43] Do as the Romans do.
[01:04:44] That's right.
[01:04:45] But they also have an espresso macchiato, a flat white latte.
[01:04:50] I'm going to say a meal and a maca latte, which that's what I got this morning.
[01:04:56] But, again, they also have, you can always get the extras and things like that.
[01:05:00] But make sure you check out the menu.
[01:05:01] And like Kev said earlier, coming soon, online ordering.
[01:05:04] It's already popping and hopping here.
[01:05:08] I see by the hat in the background some of my favorite people because Kelly's seen some of her.
[01:05:15] I'll let them order first.
[01:05:17] But that looks like Mr. Charles and Bonnie.
[01:05:19] Oh, my goodness.
[01:05:20] It is Charles and Bonnie.
[01:05:22] I know Bonnie and Charles.
[01:05:24] Hey, now we're live on the podcast.
[01:05:26] No, no.
[01:05:27] Too late.
[01:05:28] There.
[01:05:28] I saw you, Bonnie.
[01:05:29] How are you?
[01:05:30] Good morning.
[01:05:31] I'm good.
[01:05:31] Good morning.
[01:05:31] We love running into neighbors.
[01:05:34] Good to see y'all.
[01:05:35] Miss Bonnie Collier here with her.
[01:05:38] I remember when she was at Bobby Ray.
[01:05:40] Yes.
[01:05:41] Hell yeah.
[01:05:41] Prince of Paul.
[01:05:42] How are y'all doing?
[01:05:43] We're well.
[01:05:44] This is our first day.
[01:05:46] This is my first visit here.
[01:05:48] Oh, nice.
[01:05:49] My brother is coming in.
[01:05:50] He texted this morning and said, hey, you want to meet up for coffee?
[01:05:54] So, yes, let's try to do this.
[01:05:56] Like, where is it?
[01:05:57] And I love your sweater because this is also a locally brewed company, Caff Killer Brewery.
[01:06:03] Yeah.
[01:06:03] I didn't know I was going to be like I am.
[01:06:06] No.
[01:06:07] It's okay.
[01:06:08] We're neighbors.
[01:06:09] That's all we are.
[01:06:10] We're just neighbors talking about what's going on in the community.
[01:06:13] And if you're not following Warren First, you need to.
[01:06:15] I always do.
[01:06:16] Save.
[01:06:17] I follow all the fun stuff.
[01:06:18] Yeah.
[01:06:18] Listen, we're going to have to have Mr. Charles to come on and tell about his writing and give
[01:06:26] us maybe an excerpt.
[01:06:27] We're very blessed.
[01:06:28] For those of you who do or do not know, Miss Body is married to Mr. Charles Collier.
[01:06:33] Mr. Charles has been an educator, a lifelong educator, and he tells some of the best stories.
[01:06:38] And so we'd love to have him on sometime.
[01:06:40] Okay.
[01:06:41] Story time with Charles.
[01:06:42] Has he written a book or is it just?
[01:06:45] We're working on the final editing of his time in Vietnam.
[01:06:50] Oh, wow.
[01:06:51] Wow.
[01:06:51] That'd be great.
[01:06:52] That's good.
[01:06:53] Yeah.
[01:06:53] Whenever he gets the gun, he wants to push it.
[01:06:55] Come on.
[01:06:56] Y'all have a good one.
[01:06:57] Bye.
[01:06:58] Good to see you guys.
[01:06:59] Wonderful.
[01:07:00] Wonderful.
[01:07:00] It's always great running into neighbors.
[01:07:02] And that's one of my favorites right there.
[01:07:03] She is.
[01:07:04] It is popping here.
[01:07:05] I love it.
[01:07:06] Oh, look.
[01:07:06] This is the in crowd.
[01:07:07] These are the people that are keeping their ears to the ground.
[01:07:09] I feel like we're cool right now.
[01:07:11] You may be.
[01:07:12] I'm super cool.
[01:07:14] Now, okay.
[01:07:14] So going into it, you know, and I'm going to read this verbatim.
[01:07:18] News Channel 5 posted this yesterday.
[01:07:20] And, of course, it's talking about the lawyer says that Warren County DA pled not guilty to the felony charges.
[01:07:30] And when I click on it, I should have just clicked on the story right away.
[01:07:34] And, of course, if you click on that link, it's still showing the video.
[01:07:37] And I want everybody to know that the video that is out, to my knowledge that I've been told,
[01:07:43] it's the edited version to show you what the DA did.
[01:07:48] It's not the complete video because everybody's like, oh, the guy only got hit once and da-da-da-da.
[01:07:52] No.
[01:07:53] There's stuff that they have to edit, and they have to keep stuff for evidence at the end of the day.
[01:07:58] But with that said.
[01:07:59] Well, just with that, there's a lot of going on in that video.
[01:08:04] There is a lot, and that's just a little bit of it.
[01:08:06] Okay, guys?
[01:08:07] But it says in the article, and this is all from News Channel 5 by Nick Barias.
[01:08:11] He said he is accused of reckless endangerment for firing a gun in pursuit of the suspect and nearly hitting a child.
[01:08:19] There is a video of the incident caught on camera because everybody nowadays, Brian, has Arlo and Ring.
[01:08:28] So, I mean, cops not only just need their cam here, they need cams everywhere at this point.
[01:08:33] But with that said, and how the Warren County District Attorney Chris Stanford is charged with a felony,
[01:08:39] Stanford insists that he did nothing wrong, and his attorney said that they will fight the charges in court.
[01:08:46] And it says the dramatic video is the key evidence for the prosecution,
[01:08:49] but the defense will tell you there is much more than just what you see.
[01:08:53] And that's what I was telling you, that I've been told by not DA Chris Stanford's piece,
[01:08:59] by other folks that was involved in the incident, that this is not the complete video.
[01:09:04] So, but as the situation arises, there are a very fluid in nature, said Attorney Jeff Cherry.
[01:09:12] His client is the 31st District Attorney General Stanford, and he was indicted on a charge of reckless endangerment.
[01:09:18] Cherry says that his client will plead not guilty.
[01:09:21] There will be some facts coming out as this defense of the case strengthens, Cherry said.
[01:09:27] Stanford is accused of reckless firing his handgun on the quiet street in Smithville.
[01:09:32] This came after he joined authorities on a manhunt for the accused triple murder that happened.
[01:09:37] In the security video, you can see Stanford jumping out from his truck as he runs towards the suspect,
[01:09:43] trying to escape after hitting an officer with his vehicle.
[01:09:46] As the car sped from the scene, Stanford pulled his gun and shot,
[01:09:50] and then goes running after the vehicle, firing between three and five shots.
[01:09:54] Stanford missed the vehicle, and one round did go into an apartment, barely missing a mother and her child.
[01:10:00] Now, I have to stop right there.
[01:10:02] Because barely missing a mother and child, that's conjecture.
[01:10:07] And this is all what News Channel 5 is saying.
[01:10:09] This is not what the court and what they're about to do.
[01:10:11] I can say it barely missed me.
[01:10:13] Yeah.
[01:10:13] I mean, so, but that's not on the video.
[01:10:16] No.
[01:10:17] It's just the shots.
[01:10:18] That would be like a hearsay for right now.
[01:10:20] Exactly.
[01:10:20] So, look, and we don't know, just by watching the video, we don't know what we would do in that situation.
[01:10:28] I mean, you've got to take into account all the facts.
[01:10:31] Oh, actually, I can tell you what I would do.
[01:10:33] I would have stayed in the truck.
[01:10:34] Well, look.
[01:10:36] Because I can't shoot straight.
[01:10:37] So, I would be in the truck and be like, okay, pass me.
[01:10:40] Well, it's funny.
[01:10:41] I asked a friend of mine.
[01:10:42] I said, you know, what would you do in that situation?
[01:10:44] He witnesses somebody get run over by a suspect who's involved in a triple homicide.
[01:10:54] So, you know, we can, and I hear the banter from other folks and everything, but, you know, it depends on the person, depends on the situation.
[01:11:05] And the thing is, is what if that was your spouse that got ran over?
[01:11:09] Or what if that was somebody that you were connected with?
[01:11:12] So, it changes things.
[01:11:14] Because people, when I ask them, well, hey, what if that was your wife?
[01:11:16] You just watch it.
[01:11:17] At the end of the day, I say this.
[01:11:19] We're human.
[01:11:20] And I do believe that people have good intentions at the time.
[01:11:23] And I think he had good intentions at that moment.
[01:11:26] He didn't know what was going to happen.
[01:11:28] None of us do.
[01:11:28] And so, you just, you react.
[01:11:31] Well, what was supposed to happen is that the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department was supposed to, because they said in their press release, that they had the situation contained.
[01:11:41] It doesn't look like it was contained.
[01:11:42] It doesn't look like you had it contained.
[01:11:44] But no.
[01:11:45] But from the video.
[01:11:46] But that's all after what we see.
[01:11:47] But everybody's got an opinion.
[01:11:50] The nice thing is the cameras were there.
[01:11:52] Do we recommend running down and shooting?
[01:11:56] No.
[01:11:56] That's not what he's, and we all see that.
[01:11:59] But we've got to take the good with the bad.
[01:12:02] Chris has done a wonderful job, especially with the school system and the things that they've done.
[01:12:07] And because he's involved in the legal side of things, there's going to be people who like him and people who don't like him.
[01:12:13] And he's a quiet neighbor.
[01:12:15] We're going to live like four houses down from each other.
[01:12:17] Yeah, not much going on.
[01:12:18] For now, I'm moving.
[01:12:19] But between him and his wife and their law practice before he became the DA, they've always been reputable.
[01:12:24] And so it's not like we're dealing with some underhanded, you know.
[01:12:30] And I'll play devil's advocate.
[01:12:32] I know that Chris Stanford's not everybody's cup of tea.
[01:12:34] And that's how.
[01:12:35] I'm not everybody's cup of tea.
[01:12:36] Brian's not.
[01:12:37] My friend Melody.
[01:12:38] But at the end of the day, we're still human.
[01:12:40] We brush our teeth.
[01:12:40] We put our pants on the same.
[01:12:42] And all we can do right now is hope that the court system does its due diligence and does the process.
[01:12:50] And everybody just needs to, like, bring back the verbal fire shots, as I call them, and let people do their job.
[01:12:56] And if it's done right, it's going to do.
[01:12:59] Because I always say this, too, in any situation.
[01:13:01] It all comes out in the wash.
[01:13:03] Yes.
[01:13:03] So, with that said, the prosecutors are saying that the video showed no immediate threat and that Stanford put other lives at risk.
[01:13:16] But Stanford's attorney said his client acted in the moment after witnessing a triple murder suspect injuring an officer, just like you stated.
[01:13:24] Yeah, so we're just reciting what everybody else is saying for the most part.
[01:13:30] So, let's take a step back.
[01:13:32] Let's let the facts fall in.
[01:13:34] Exactly.
[01:13:35] And so, as of today, Brian, he is going to, is that right, arraignment?
[01:13:41] Yeah, be arraigned.
[01:13:42] Stanford will formally be arraigned on the felony charge Tuesday, which is today, with DeKalb County.
[01:13:49] And I do know that Stanford does not have to be present for that justice lawyer, because it's just a simple basic in and out.
[01:13:56] So, it's going on right now, guys.
[01:13:58] And when we find out what his arraignment is for the next trial date, we'll let you guys know.
[01:14:04] But that is like the biggest hot topic right now.
[01:14:07] And as we get closer, and I hope everybody, if there is something that is going on that you guys would love us to talk about that's going on in Warren County, going on in America,
[01:14:17] have you heard, have you heard?
[01:14:19] Because I'm going to go right into this, because I don't care to ever talk about it.
[01:14:23] But talking about social media.
[01:14:25] Because social media is one of the, you know.
[01:14:28] It affects us.
[01:14:29] It affects us.
[01:14:30] By the way, social media is not going to die.
[01:14:32] It'll never die.
[01:14:33] It's here to stay.
[01:14:34] And that's one of the beautiful things about our platform, is that for our sponsors, they get advertising all day long.
[01:14:43] All day long.
[01:14:43] As long as we're on, you're on.
[01:14:45] And if you look at our view counts from our stories, averaging over 1,000.
[01:14:51] Within three hours.
[01:14:52] Yes.
[01:14:52] Is what the average inside it said.
[01:14:54] But with that said, social media and CEO, this is what's going on in America.
[01:14:59] Mark Zuckerberg is announcing a third-party checking program and moving toward a user-generated system similar to the community notes and a political.
[01:15:11] Hey, Mr. Charles.
[01:15:13] Community notes and a political and social landscaping posting video.
[01:15:17] And he's going to post a video about it, talking about, like, the new changes.
[01:15:22] What it's going to be of the world's largest social media platform, like Facebook, Instagram, and as well as Threads.
[01:15:28] And which will be affected by the changes.
[01:15:32] And it's going to pivot from, comes as many tech leaders to build ties with the incoming, like the Trump administration, things like that.
[01:15:43] And it's going to be a good change.
[01:15:52] Because if anybody, going back to what Mark Zuckerberg said, was it right before the president election or right after?
[01:16:00] He came out and did say that during the previous elections, when it comes to political stuff, that he was targeted for some, you know, I don't want to say threats.
[01:16:10] But he was targeted to make sure to make certain things can be said and certain things couldn't be said.
[01:16:15] Right.
[01:16:16] He was being pressured by the White House.
[01:16:17] Yeah, that's what it was.
[01:16:19] And so they were trying to shut down the stories.
[01:16:22] And this has become a big political issue on top of everything, censorship.
[01:16:26] Yeah.
[01:16:26] And social media was started as freedom of speech.
[01:16:30] That is our God-given rise.
[01:16:32] Well, when Elon Musk bought Twitter, which is now X, he discovered that a lot of the stuff that was going on was actually being redirected through the White House and through a particular party.
[01:16:47] Which makes sense if you've made any post about anything.
[01:16:50] I'll say this, my post that I made when I was working at the radio station, putting up an American flag on things, they banned it because it said it was too political.
[01:17:01] And I'm like, it's a flag.
[01:17:03] Yeah.
[01:17:04] So I think a lot of that stuff that has gone on over the last several years is scaling back.
[01:17:12] We hope it is.
[01:17:13] But it's nice to have third-party people who can come in and give the facts.
[01:17:18] And regulate it correctly.
[01:17:19] Yes.
[01:17:20] And that's what we like with these platforms where you have viewers that add things to it.
[01:17:26] So if it's a picture that's posted and we say, oh, that happened last week, what really was a picture that was taken two years ago.
[01:17:35] And the viewers would say, no, that's a picture that was taken years ago.
[01:17:37] You can see and it gives it some validation as to where it is.
[01:17:42] So we encourage you guys to keep us on our toes because we don't know everything.
[01:17:48] We're not perfect.
[01:17:49] No.
[01:17:50] And so we just kind of go with where the reputable news is.
[01:17:54] But we depend on you guys to let us know.
[01:17:56] And if you know, have a story or have insight, especially in the national media.
[01:18:01] If you've got something, please let us know.
[01:18:03] Share it with us so we can share because we are neighbors passing on information to other neighbors.
[01:18:08] Exactly.
[01:18:08] And talking about Elon Musk because he's all about Tesla.
[01:18:11] We're just going to move into that.
[01:18:14] Federal regulators are investigating Teslas.
[01:18:16] It's called Actual Smart, which allows drivers to remotely move their car toward them or to another location using a smartphone app.
[01:18:26] Wow.
[01:18:26] Which, by the way, I saw a movie and while I'm talking, it was scary.
[01:18:29] It's that Julia Roberts movie with At the End of the World.
[01:18:33] Oh, crap.
[01:18:34] You need to watch it.
[01:18:35] Oh.
[01:18:35] But Teslas were involved and I won't buy a Tesla because of it.
[01:18:38] But moving on.
[01:18:39] But it says Highway Safety Administration is looking into reports of a lot of crashes because of this.
[01:18:45] Because the driver's vehicle failed to detect parked vehicles and actually was launched.
[01:18:50] This was back in September.
[01:18:53] And they want to replace the summons, which allows us to move your car back in or out of parking spots.
[01:19:00] So they're working on it.
[01:19:01] Do I think it's cool to be like the Jetsons and have, you know, like my own little Ruby robot?
[01:19:09] Or what is that her name?
[01:19:10] Ruby?
[01:19:11] Or Rudy?
[01:19:11] Rosie.
[01:19:12] Rosie.
[01:19:12] Gosh, I almost had it.
[01:19:14] I almost had it.
[01:19:14] Everybody's like, you don't know the Jetsons?
[01:19:16] Yes, I do.
[01:19:17] My mother educated me.
[01:19:17] Hey, everybody knows Elroy.
[01:19:19] Thank you, Elroy.
[01:19:20] But I wouldn't care to have like a cool space vehicle.
[01:19:24] Look, it's the future.
[01:19:25] No matter what, just like the VFW story, just like yesterday where we were talking about kids not being in a hurry to get their driver's license.
[01:19:33] Because why buy a car when you get somebody an Uber or somebody taking it?
[01:19:37] It's cheaper on a Lyft, an Uber.
[01:19:38] Oh, yeah.
[01:19:39] So the world is changing.
[01:19:41] Elon Musk is one of these movers and shakers on the world scale.
[01:19:45] I like to look at him as kind of like a Bench.
[01:19:47] He's a type that's gotten into the fight for democracy and freedom of speech.
[01:19:51] Yes.
[01:19:51] And so, yeah, there's going to be mishaps.
[01:19:55] There's going to be things.
[01:19:56] We're going to have a rocket explode at some point, but we haven't yet.
[01:20:00] No.
[01:20:00] Thank God.
[01:20:01] I mean, you know, I watched, speaking of the, you know, rockets and stuff, I watched on Apple TV Fly Me to the Moon,
[01:20:08] which has got Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, and it's playing off the storyline about the Artemis project.
[01:20:15] And how, and it plays on both sides where, was the moon landing real or was it fake, right?
[01:20:21] But at the end of the movie, you don't know if it was real or fake.
[01:20:24] Oh, no, no.
[01:20:26] No, no.
[01:20:27] No, the way it plays you and mind tricks you, I'm not, but at the end, I'm just letting you know, it doesn't ruin it.
[01:20:34] I'm not ruining it.
[01:20:35] Okay, okay.
[01:20:36] Well, still.
[01:20:38] But they did great.
[01:20:39] I want to see that movie because I hear it's a perfect date movie.
[01:20:42] It's a good couples movie.
[01:20:45] Sure.
[01:20:45] It is.
[01:20:46] Sure.
[01:20:47] I am a hopeless romantic, don't get me wrong, but the way Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum play together, it finally reeled it in at the end.
[01:20:54] Oh, it did?
[01:20:54] Yeah.
[01:20:55] Okay.
[01:20:55] So I could see why they call it a couples movie.
[01:20:57] Okay.
[01:20:58] But with that said, again, just seeing all what I was watching it, it just reminds me of kind of reaffirms what you were saying.
[01:21:07] We can't get where we're going unless we don't experiment and try.
[01:21:11] Yes.
[01:21:11] And so many people, when the first Apollo started to the Apollo 11, there were so many lives lost.
[01:21:20] So many, you know, the money spent on these projects.
[01:21:24] If you want to make something and be a mover and a shaker, you have to lose something, whether that's lives or your money.
[01:21:32] Right?
[01:21:33] Is that the best way to say it?
[01:21:35] Yeah.
[01:21:35] To make an omelet, you got to break some eggs.
[01:21:37] Thank you.
[01:21:37] And things are going to happen.
[01:21:39] And that's one of the things I really try to push when I'm speaking with businesses or other entities where, hey, look, we're not perfect.
[01:21:48] We're going to make some mistakes.
[01:21:49] We need to be called out.
[01:21:50] We need to be honest with ourselves.
[01:21:52] When I'm talking about the school system, hey, look, we got to change things.
[01:21:55] We got to do something different.
[01:21:57] And one of the culture killers in our business, in our line of work, is saying, well, we've never done that before.
[01:22:03] Or that's not my job.
[01:22:05] And so we've got to get away from that thinking.
[01:22:08] Be curious and not judgmental.
[01:22:09] Right.
[01:22:10] Look.
[01:22:11] That's what I always say.
[01:22:12] But keep it on, because I thought this was really interesting.
[01:22:14] And I was telling Brian this off air.
[01:22:17] So another thing going on in America, there is a federal death row inmate that has refused President Biden's clemency paperwork.
[01:22:27] They don't want to have the execution granted, which means that they won't be executed.
[01:22:33] Instead of being executed, they need to stay locked in prison is essentially what this is.
[01:22:38] But he says he wants to, the federal court, he wants to stay on the death row penalty.
[01:22:45] He's refusing to sign the paperwork that would reduce their life without parole and incident and believe that the communication will put them, if they do sign it, because they're actually in the, they're trying to appeal their cases because they're innocent.
[01:22:58] And so if they sign this, they're pretty much signing that they're guilty of the crime.
[01:23:03] So they rather refuse.
[01:23:05] There's actually two of them that are refusing to sign this.
[01:23:08] And I find that crazy.
[01:23:11] But at the same time, I'm like, well, good for you for standing up for yourself.
[01:23:15] Right.
[01:23:16] Because there is people, unfortunately, that get convicted of a crime they didn't do.
[01:23:21] It was just wrong time.
[01:23:24] Well, think about it.
[01:23:25] And I hate to go back.
[01:23:26] Well, I do like to go back to our wonderful interview with the Harveys yesterday.
[01:23:31] Yes.
[01:23:31] And they were talking about the archaeology.
[01:23:33] I learned something really amazing yesterday.
[01:23:34] About how they only, the archaeologists only like to uncover about 10%.
[01:23:39] Yeah.
[01:23:39] And so as things change, as technology's changing, just like DNA technology and everything, we've got so many opportunities in advance.
[01:23:47] But things now are not perfect.
[01:23:50] And they're never going to be perfect.
[01:23:51] But these folks that maintain their innocence, maybe in the future we'll have something where we can exonerate them if they're not guilty.
[01:24:00] So, yeah, that's a sticky situation.
[01:24:03] It is.
[01:24:04] It's crazy.
[01:24:04] It's crazy.
[01:24:05] It's crazy.
[01:24:06] Somebody refuses.
[01:24:07] They rather have the death penalty and die instead of just living there.
[01:24:12] I was like, okay.
[01:24:13] But, hey, more power to you if that's what you want to do.
[01:24:17] But with that said, that is going to be a wrap for today.
[01:24:21] So, again, we went through everything.
[01:24:23] We're getting stuff done.
[01:24:25] Don't forget that we'll be looking tonight as we're posting about our newsletter.
[01:24:30] And then you can have a hard copy of that as well as tomorrow.
[01:24:34] And also be looking for invitation.
[01:24:36] And please share it.
[01:24:38] I'm going to post it tonight as well.
[01:24:41] I'm going to mention this every podcast.
[01:24:43] Remember, January 17th at the Warren County Chamber of Commerce Community Room from 830 to 130, we will be going live there celebrating our one-year anniversary being broadcasted for Warren vs. 931.
[01:24:59] And my goal, like I was telling Brian last night, is to jam-pack interview after interview.
[01:25:05] And as of right now, I've got two people coming on that show that day we're going to have.
[01:25:10] Tom Davis, because he's doing a kickoff.
[01:25:13] His representative lady's coming this week.
[01:25:17] And I can't remember what day, but she's coming to do the kickoff party because he's campaigning again to run again this year.
[01:25:24] Or not this year, but run again.
[01:25:26] And so she's going to come on this week.
[01:25:29] And then he's going to be on our show the 17th at 830.
[01:25:32] And then after that, just because you tagged her, Hannah Gribble, which is a travel agent, which we have a lot here in this town.
[01:25:42] And so if you are another travel agent that wants to come on, I am not opposed.
[01:25:46] The more the merrier.
[01:25:46] But she will be on the show with us that day at 9 a.m.
[01:25:50] All right.
[01:25:50] So I want to make sure every 30 minutes or every 15 minutes or every 10 minutes to have somebody new on the show.
[01:25:57] So if you have an event, if you are a new business, if you have something going on or want to tell Warren County something,
[01:26:05] this is the time to do it because we are going to be broadcasting live between 830 and 130 on January the 17th,
[01:26:14] celebrating Warren First 931's birthday.
[01:26:18] Oh, yay.
[01:26:19] One year old.
[01:26:20] Oh, my gosh.
[01:26:21] It's like my little baby.
[01:26:22] But with that, take care.
[01:26:24] God bless.
[01:26:25] Enjoy the rest of your day.
[01:26:26] And well, one more thing.
[01:26:28] Okay.
[01:26:29] Friday, 930, Mayor Ryle Chastain will be with us.
[01:26:32] Oh, that's right.
[01:26:33] Yes.
[01:26:33] So if you have things, if you have questions that you want to ask him or get those prepped up, let us know.
[01:26:39] Put them in the comments or make sure to tune in with us Friday at 930 to see Mayor Chastain.
[01:26:44] Yeah.
[01:26:44] Q&A him.
[01:26:45] Like, hey, y'all want to put them in the hot seat?
[01:26:47] Let's go.
[01:26:48] We love you, Ryle.
[01:26:50] We love you.
[01:26:50] I graduated with Ryle, too.
[01:26:52] Well, we got to be nice.
[01:26:53] But no, we're very grateful for that.
[01:26:55] And Kelly, thank you for another wonderful show.
[01:26:57] Yes.
[01:26:57] Thank you to our neighbors here in Tree City Inn.
[01:26:59] Thank you, Kevill.
[01:27:00] Thank you, Megan.
[01:27:01] The cafe.
[01:27:02] Megan, all him.
[01:27:04] Thanks to Bonnie and everybody that was afraid to come up.
[01:27:08] Yeah.
[01:27:08] Everybody that randomly showed up today.
[01:27:10] It's a great place.
[01:27:11] And if you haven't tried out the cafe, please make it one of your stops before going to work.
[01:27:16] They open up at 5 a.m.
[01:27:17] There is seven days a week.
[01:27:20] Open up at 5 a.m.
[01:27:22] You, Warren County, have been requesting a coffee shop to open up at 5 a.m.
[01:27:26] I know you are listening.
[01:27:29] So get on it.
[01:27:30] Okay?
[01:27:30] And remember, Warren County, keep it first.
[01:27:35] Bye, guys.
