On today's show we talked about Beta Results, The State of the Union Address, Prom, Spring Football, Isha, President Trump, and so much more. A show you can trust and count on....

Warren First 931: Your local hub for all things community!

[00:00:37] Good morning everybody, Warren First crew and we're back again together. I'm Kelly. I'm grateful to be out of the bathroom. I know you are. Out of the bed. Out of the bed and into the room at this point, right? Yes. Out into civilization. Yes. As we have all been praying for Brian and everybody that get to feeling better, just remember, I've said this all week long,

[00:01:02] please, please, if you don't feel good, try to avoid as much contact as possible and wash your hands. Keep those hands, please. Sing happy birthday. Was it twice or is it once? Twice. Yeah. I can't remember. I was watching it the other day on the Wiggles and yeah, and Anthony was trying to talk with a doctor and telling kids, you know, how to wash your hands are very important.

[00:01:28] And I'm telling you, as a parent, if you can get your kids to know the importance of that and that alone, I think I have my daughter for sure set for life because a part of me thinks she's going to be a germaphobe at one point. Because anytime she gets anything on her hands, she's like, wash hands, wash hands. And I'm like, yes, yes, let's wash hands. But again, we're going to get right into it like we always do with a word from our sponsors. And we have so much on the show today.

[00:01:57] I cannot wait to hear how Brian's week has been and what he's heard, I guess, being secluded. And then we're going to also talk a little bit of what happened on with our nation with the, you know, the speech from the other day with President Trump and the State of the Union. Was this his first one? Well, yeah. I mean, it's a lot of times they have it in January whenever it's the president's already been sitting in. Yeah.

[00:02:27] But they expanded out. But there's a lot of things that have happened just since President Trump has taken office. So, yeah, a lot of things to report. We've got more Doge news today. More Doge. Oh, I'm excited. That Doge, I mean, they're working. They're doing something. As I say, and we'll do a good comparison when we go into that so everybody can get set off with an icebreaker because I love my little icebreaker I do with Doge and Elon Musk. But with that, we are going to take a quick word from our sponsors.

[00:04:50] Get ready for fall with Randwalker Farms, where fall planning begins. All right, guys, you're hanging out with Kelly Ray. I'm going to say one half of the Warren First 931 crew, as I used to say back in my heyday. I'm Kelly. And I'm Brian. And currently in downtown McMinnville, it is 43 degrees. Now, today's high is supposed to be 61.

[00:05:17] It is going to be cloudy, by the way, today, tomorrow, and Sunday. And the forecast is going to be the highest that it's going to be all week long as of right now is today at 61 degrees. But tonight's low is going to be 31. Now, this wind that is coming through, guys, windy conditions are expected to get even more up in there around 2 o'clock today. So be cautious. Be aware of that.

[00:05:41] But right now, it's going to feel like with this wind going, even though it might be in the 60s, it may feel like 33 degrees outside. And I want to say thanks again to our community weather sponsors, Reddick Brown Ford. If you have not tried out their free pickup and delivery service, make sure you do that. Tomorrow, the high will be 55. And then on Sunday, it's 57. And exciting news for next week. And I hope this stays this way with how the weather's been.

[00:06:11] But on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, it's going to be in the 60s and the 70s. So, and it's going to be sunny. And we need to enjoy those because next Thursday, we're expected to have a 55% chance of rain. But other than that, the weather is going to be booming. I want to say I am so excited to have him back in the studio with us here at Top's Rose and Yogurt in Metro Deli. Oh, guys, I'm happy to be back with you. I don't like being away.

[00:06:40] I have to admit, I have so much fun doing this. I know. And so there's a passion that goes along with it. And I love to get better. And I love to listen to you, Kelly. But Kelly, I had to lay down. I was in turmoil this week. And on my birthday, of all things. Of all things. So I'll hear this real quick. My lovely wife decided to take me to the High Point. I don't know if you've been able to go to the High Point.

[00:07:07] But for us, going to the High Point, we're going to have to have them as one of our sponsors. Yeah. Because I don't like to fight with Nashville traffic. Nope. I don't like to really go to Chattanooga if I don't have to. So the High Point is a great compromise. So we get there. And right as we're going up the mountain, I start feeling bad. Yeah. And we get there a little early. So I give myself about 10 minutes. And you're driving, right? I'm driving. I want to make sure it's not your wife driving it for that phone call. We'll get to that later. So I'm not sweating.

[00:07:36] But my abdomen, I'm getting this nauseous pain. I'm thinking, all right. Now, guys, we had a busy Monday this week. And we did a lot of things. I had my alter ego, Mr. Claus, going on. We got to read to a lot of awesome children. It was your birthday. It's my birthday on top of everything. And so I haven't eaten really all day until it. And I've been savoring, been waiting for the steak because the next day was Fat Tuesday.

[00:08:06] And I was going to just take it easy and save up for Lent. So because I'm changing my diet. A lot of you may not know, but I was over 300 pounds. I lost about 85 pounds doing intermittent fasting with keto and carnivore kind of in between. And then I've gained some of it back since I stopped this last year. So I thought, man, I got to get back to getting in shape and losing weight. And so I thought, this is going to be my last supper. I'm so excited for this meal.

[00:08:35] And then I'm sick. I'm not feeling good. And I ate a few bites of my salad. And I said, look, we're going to stick around for the steak to come out. I'll have a bite. Sarah, you can stay here if you'd like. But I've got to go back and get in the car. My advent's killing me. And I'm just not feeling good. So we ordered this awesome dessert. It's a pound cake. And it's incredible. But we had to take it to go. And I thought, I don't know.

[00:09:04] This is not going to taste very good. So we get in the car. And I said, Sarah, you're going to have to drive. And my wife, God love her. She is amazing. He loves you, by the way. My wife, the mother of my twin daughters. Smart. So smart. Directions are not really like driving. That's not really her thing. Packing, spatial orientation and direction. Not really her thing.

[00:09:31] So she puts it in her GPS on how to get back home. Well, instead of going the smooth way off the Mont Eagle Mountain on Interstate 24, she gets off on 41 and starts going down the windy way. And here you got a guy in the back seat, sick and feeling bad. And you're going down like smooth rapid at this point. I look up and go, where are you going? I see in the distance the interstate. And I'm thinking, oh my gosh. Is this when I was on the phone with y'all? Oh my God.

[00:10:01] And Kelly called right then. I was like, Kelly. And another thing is, I'd land on getting gas on the way back coming through Manchester. So I don't know if there are any gas stations open this late at night. Yeah. Going through Deckard or wherever. Decatur, I don't know. Pull them, pell them. So no, but no. But my loving wife, she was able to hang a left there in that little town in the Hillsboro Valley. Yeah. We got back on the interstate.

[00:10:31] We got gas. Oh, we got back home. And I have just been, since then, just kind of convalescing, so to speak. Yeah. So I did not get to enjoy my birthday dinner. No. I did. We took the dessert home. And the next night, I put the pound cake in the instant, or what's the air fryer? Oh, yeah. And toasted it, and then served it. And my girls and I had a few bites of it, but my girls demolished it.

[00:10:59] And then I got to feeling worse again. Yeah. So I went back to that. You can't eat that kind of food just yet. No. But I was able to share some stuff about Lent and want to know more about Lent and want to know what people are giving up for Lent. If you participate in Lent, a lot of people know. I'm new to the Lent game as far as that goes, but love to have Ryan Heatherly or somebody who is sponsoring at First Methodist Church, the Lent service every Wednesday at 12. Make sure that you go there.

[00:11:29] They generally have a meal afterwards. Now, I didn't get to go this Wednesday, but looking forward to next Wednesday and looking forward to the speakers, because generally it's not just First United Methodist Church. It's a lot of churches that participate in this. Exactly. So it'll be a different speaker every Wednesday. Oh, it's nice. It's a great community event, but you see some of the finest people of our community there, and they're all in agreement with so many things, but they love our little neck of the woods.

[00:11:59] I love it. And so, yeah, if you want to see some of the awesome mover and shakers and people of faith here at McMinnville, go to the Lent service, 1205 First Methodist Church this Wednesday and the following Wednesdays throughout Lent. I love it. So, you know. Oh, I do not. Bernadette just texted me. Do I know what day prom is? Oh. I can find out, Bernadette. I tell you I know.

[00:12:24] But I will say this, you know, listening to him on the phone again, it was just very comical. And I just kept telling Brian, I'm like, share your location. You got an iPhone. Share your location. Do I need to come out there? Because I can hear Sarah in the background like, I don't know. I'm just going with what the phone's saying and, you know, all these other things. And I can hear Brian, but Sarah, I see the interstate. It's like.

[00:12:53] But no, I'm glad he's back and everything and getting back in the swing of things. And this is going to be a fantastic Friday now. Yes. Yes. And we have so much on the show. And we're going to look up for you guys. Oh, and don't forget our good friends with Supreme Building Products. They do a FYI Fridays with Reese. And last week he was a little under the weather. So he is actually, I think, doing, is he doing it right now? Shout out to him.

[00:13:22] Oh, look at him with his diagrams. And last week he was a little under the weather. Oh. He is actually looking at him. Oh. I got. I got two things. Where you got me at? Where you going? Yeah, I'll look at him with his diagrams. Oh, look. See, there we go. He got to pause us. But with that said, he does a very good Q&A. And if there's any questions that you ever want to know, if you're, you know, like I said, a weekend warrior, a do-it-yourself project person, or you're a general contractor, calling

[00:13:51] places like Supreme Building Supply is just one of many ways of getting the knowledge that you need. Don't, instead of Googling it, we have all these people that will answer these questions like he does. Yes. Reese does a good job. That whole Moore family. I'm just really impressed. Oh, he's got a sale going on right now. Yes. You know, actually, we can do this right here. Hold on. Can you tie in? I'm going to try to screen share, you guys. I want y'all to see what he does. It's the neatest little thing.

[00:14:21] And while I'm doing this, I want to say a shout out to one of our other sponsors, Sonic of McMinnville. They gave us, oh, did I reach it? See, I'm short. They gave us these cups for Brian and our guests to drink water out of. And then they got me. I was so excited. I got a son of a gun. These are for me. They said for VIPs that I was like, I'm a VIP.

[00:14:52] You're in the club. Mm-hmm. I am in the club. Or the clerk. Is that what they say on the mail? The clerk. You know what the clerk is? But yeah, one of the cool things about our sponsors, and we've got some great ones like Supreme, like Sonic, they're here in the community. They are. They're giving back to the community. And that's a big thing. You need to look at who's giving back. What companies are actually doing something? Not just coming for a press photo. Not just coming for somebody to say, hey, we were here.

[00:15:22] Who's actually doing the work? Who's volunteering with these programs? And one of the things we want to shout out with Reese right now and Supreme is they're hiring. They're looking for some part-time work. They're starting to really ramp up. So make sure that you give them a call over there, Supreme. That's why I haven't been using it. Excellent. Now, this, the camera, it does autofocus. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Watch your figure. But I'm going to back off here a little bit, guys, so you can see, Reese.

[00:15:52] Oh, the video ended. They just ended. Sorry, Kelly. Oh, my gosh. Hold on. So now, okay. Well, anyways, if you follow Reese, you can follow Reese more or you can follow them on Supreme. I'm just going to take that off. You can follow them on Supreme. We just missed them. God love them. You know, we need to talk with him about when he comes on and does his Friday, let's give him, you know, some time on here and then just expand the platform. We can share it on. Why not?

[00:16:21] Good morning, Derek. Derek. Everybody wants to know what's going on in the community, especially from that side of things. Hey, good morning, Jamie Jaco and good morning, Derek Coates. Yeah, they're all listening. Shout out to all our 10 listeners this morning. Shane. But yeah, maybe we'll talk to him about that today. That would be really good. And just have him stop the screen share. But one other thing I want to make sure to tell everybody about, you know, going on in

[00:16:48] the community is, I want to say just not even maybe five days ago, we had one of our people in the community named Vicki Cantrell was involved in a car wreck. And there has been an update on the previous post about Ms. Cantrell. She said they're planning on doing a benefit auction and dinner on April the 19th. You can donate. Let's see. It's going to be, excuse me, at the detention in Morrison.

[00:17:17] I'll make more formal posts as the weekend goes by. And this is from Hunter Raines. And Hunter Raines, he is over the Warren County emergency notifications page. We're working on getting an account open so that people can donate money to that for her husband. We'll be able to use it for whatever expenses may arise. Because we said this a couple of weeks ago, even though when accidents happen and, you know, when we're sick and down, the bills, unfortunately, they don't stop.

[00:17:47] They're still there. So what they need right now, they're looking into auction items, food donations for dinner and volunteers. Any auction donations can be dropped off at the Beauty and Beard Salon or Hunter said he can pick them up or Miss Tisha Rigsby Barks can also pick up items if needed. If you'd like to assist with food donations, baked goods, et cetera, please reach out to myself or Vicki Gooch Pack.

[00:18:16] For any able body and willing hairdressers that may would like to offer haircuts for donations at this event, please reach out to me. My girls at the shop are willing to make this happen. A picture of Miss Vicki, please keep her and her family in your prayers. And this was written by Amber Keenan.

[00:18:41] And so if anybody, and all this is tagged, we shared it on our Facebook post this morning. We also shared Melody is having a good old time in Gatlinburg. Is that where they're at? Yes. And they're just about to wrap things up. I was going to say. And we're really hoping we get a report that our Warren County kids made placement because this is one of the cool events where you can make placement to the nationals.

[00:19:07] And we've had Bobby Ray, we placed in the nationals in the top 10 a few years ago at Bobby Ray. Yeah. But Bobby Ray Elementary is there. They're up there. We've got the Warren County Middle School there. And we've also got the Warren County High School there. And what's really neat about every year, the national location changes. Last year, it was in Savannah, Georgia. The year before that, it was in Louisville, Kentucky.

[00:19:37] That's right. This year, it's going to be in Orlando, Florida. And other than Disney and all the stuff like that, they're going to be competing against kids around the country. And there's kids from all over the country that come from Washington State, from all over. And what's really neat is to have the best of the best there. And we get to be part of that. Warren County gets to be part. So I was talking to Kelly off air about what's really good.

[00:20:07] When we say, hey, we're good, are we good by Warren County standards? Are we good by Middle Tennessee standards? Are we good by Tennessee standards? Are we good nationally? And that's what we're fighting for is to be the best nationally. So that's why all these rankings are important. That's why, you know, even when you look at TCAP scores and stuff, that stuff's important. It is. And it lets us know where we really are and what we're really doing.

[00:20:31] So, and I was very blessed to be able to sit and watch Miss Patty Clark talk about how she saw things. It wasn't just about being good. We've got a lot of good kids here. We do. We've got a lot of good things here. Guys, we're fighting for scholarships. We're fighting for placement. We're fighting for the best that our kids can do.

[00:20:57] So being at Beta, it's really one of the few higher academic type systems that we have. We don't have a lot of things. We're not, man, we're not competing against Central Magnet. We're not competing against a lot of the Hume Fogg and some of the great high schools in the state of Tennessee. But this is one of the few things that we can compete with them in. But it requires a lot of extra and outside help.

[00:21:24] So not a lot of support from the actual school systems go into this. So in the future, we'll be talking about fundraising. But it would be awesome for our kids to make it to nationals in Orlando. There are some children that would never be able to go on some of these trips and do some of these cool things without organizations like Beta. So shout out to Rachel and Lucy McGee. Yes. Caitlin McKay at Bobby Ray. And all of the fine people who work so hard to support our kids.

[00:21:52] And what's really cool is that you're starting to see more and more Beta Clubs at all the other schools. I saw Centertown the other day. They've started a Beta Club and they're starting really in Hickory Creek starting to get at it. So it's really cool to see these other schools start really picking it up because you don't really have anything for the kids at the top. It's correct. And, you know, one thing I thought was really crazy when we went to the invention convention that was happening in Murfreesboro with the Covenant crew.

[00:22:22] We were the only representations there from Warren County. And I thought because I saw I did see another principal out there. Shout out to her. I'm not going to say who it was. But I was like, oh, is, you know, is your school here? She's like, no, they don't do this. And I was just like, I feel like there's some things that we are our kids may miss out on. And I know like, you know, there's only so much you can do in one year. Let me say that, you know, especially with the weather and things like that.

[00:22:51] But I was just like, why doesn't I thought to myself when that happened? And this is not a dig by any means what I'm about to say. I just didn't understand why our middle school and elementary schools were not public ones were not participating in this. And so but it's but at the same time, it was really neat seeing all these other schools competing, you know, against each other. And I think kids need there's nothing wrong. And I say this even as adults now, there's nothing wrong with healthy competition.

[00:23:21] Oh, we got healthy competition all the time. All the time. All the time. Whether you're in the media business, whether you're in the right now, the tax business, you know, with taxes, whether you're in the bank business, it's always good to have healthy competition because you don't want things to ever get stagnant. You know, well, the person who benefits the most is the consumer. Yeah. So the better product, the more competition we have, the better product we're going to put out. And that's what I'm looking at. Yeah. And now you're starting to see it from the sports angle. Yeah.

[00:23:51] It's starting to break it break surface. Yeah. And so with that, we want this to take place in the academic circles as well because you can go look for yourself. Go look up Warren County School System. Go online. Google it. You can find it. You can go to U.S. News and World Report. That's pretty honest. School Diggers won. And a lot of people got upset because I posted something a year ago or so about some School Digger rankings.

[00:24:20] Look, they have no vendetta against any program. None of us do. None of us do. They take the data that's supplied and they rank things. And the thing is, all this stuff comes from the Tennessee Department of Education. Yeah. It's not like it's coming from any place else. So, look, do yourself a favor because that's what makes school board jobs and who's your superintendent. We have to keep everybody on their toes in the good way. Like, hey, how can we make this better? How can we be the best? What is that saying? A better never got. What is it?

[00:24:49] Oh, you know how good is this and, you know, better. But what's that saying? Good is the killer of greatness. And so, and there's a great book by Jim Collins. It's called, oh, shoot. Junior tried to call. Tell him if he wanted to talk on the show. Oh, okay. From good to great. Yeah. And so that, that was a big seller, late nineties, early two thousands.

[00:25:14] There's another one, a great business book that's called, what got you here won't get you there. So, and the thing is, is we can say, oh yeah, we're good. We're good. No, we've got to keep our foot on the pedal. And that's just the way it is because everybody's trying to knock you off when you're up at the top. Exactly. But that's what we want to do. We want to get to the top and with our wrestling program. Yeah. Woo. We're making strides. Wrestling program, our boys basketball program. Gosh.

[00:25:44] Oh, what's the other one? There's another one. With the girls, with the girls dance. Oh yeah. The dance teams. That's middle school and high school. Christy Weider, who is one of the sponsors for the Pioneerettes at the middle school level. It was funny. I said, hey, Christy, we'd love to get you on the show. She said, well, we have a limited time. This is right before they went off the national competition. She said, we've got a lot of stuff going on right now, but hey, wouldn't it be cool if, why don't you get us when we come back? Because we're going to win that national time. She knew.

[00:26:14] She knew. She knew. And she has pushed. And I just see the standards. It's a little different. And you don't put somebody whose name is, and that's one of the big things. Yeah. We've got a big problem with nepotism here in Warren County. We let you on things and give you roles because who your parents are, what your name is. Yeah. And we've got to stop doing that. It's got to be. And that's one of the big things. We've got to take everybody for their value worth. Well, that's one of the things about getting rid of these DEI initiatives and stuff like that. It's the best person.

[00:26:43] So we need to be the best people for the job. So sorry for that. He has been gone way too long. He's got to let it out. And speaking of letting it out, let's take a quick break. And then, you know, transition into what we're talking about, what the union speech was. We can talk about that coming up. If you have any questions, if you want to get on the show and talk about stuff.

[00:27:09] Now, remember, I've said this because this is something new I've introduced all week long. If you want to call on the show, you can. Just remember, don't get ugly and cuss because if you don't, if I say stuff like, hey, you need to calm down or anything like that. Or can we, you know, just change it up a little bit. You know, if you don't listen to me, I will hang up on you. And if you start cussing and you don't listen to me, I will hang up on you. So I'm going to put my foot down.

[00:27:36] But if you want to call on the show, talk about some happenings like, have we heard this? Have we heard that? You know, this is your time to have another aspect on the show to have free reign on asking us. If we may know it, we may not. So but again, we're going to take a quick break and a quick word from our sponsors. And speaking of Supreme earlier, let's kick it off with them. And remember, Warren County, keep it first. [00:32:12] We are back here at Warren Perks 931. I'm your host of the show, Kelly Walker-Slaughter. And I'm Brian Kaur. And we are the Warren 931 crew. Yeah. With that said, don't forget, currently in downtown McMinnville, it is getting a little warmer. The sun, as you can see right behind us, is coming up, but it is 47 degrees in downtown McMinnville. The wind is going to pick up, though, when it's in the high of 60 at 2 p.m. So be ready for that.

[00:32:41] But tonight's low is going to be 31 degrees. And the rest of the weekend weather is going to be in the highs of the 50s. So, as I say, you know, this is what I love and hate about winter and spring transitioning. Is the, like, you can't have, you got to keep your cold clothes out and your, you know, like, today this is not, I need something warmer. Yeah. Well, spring is on the way. It's coming. And driving in today, still saw a lot of those daffodils, buttercups. Yes.

[00:33:11] Oh, Miss Lanisa told us what they are. Crocuses. Whatever. Whatever. I go with it. But on top of that, all these blooming trees are, well, they're starting to bloom. I think I saw some cherry blossoms as I was coming up. They look like a kind of a smooth bark tree. So, all you nursery people, let us know what trees are blooming right now because it is indignant. Where's the blooming stuff? Where's the blooming stuff? Yeah. I like that. Yeah. I might get my husband on here and he can talk a little bit, you know? Oh, yes.

[00:33:41] Because he's really knowledgeable now that he's, like, taken over. Because, I mean, I am a nurseryman's daughter for crying out loud. I should know more. Thank God for the nurseries and the nursery people that have, the families that have been supporting this community for so, so long. And I'll tell you what's really interesting, a historical fact, is that this county used to be the richest county per capita. So, so they say, especially during the 60s into the 70s. And it's because of the nurseries.

[00:34:07] And the nurseries founded so many institutions around here that are still prevalent today. So, shout out to our friends. Because one of the neat things, if you're from Warren County, you know somebody. You know somebody. Who's in the nursery business. So, there's plenty, plenty of people to go around when it comes to nursery and trees. But earlier this morning, we got a question from Bernadette from the detention out in Morrison. And they were wondering when prom is. And we got notified.

[00:34:36] And thanks again to Sarah Cantrell. She is the PR for our Warren County school system. And she let us know it was on April the 25th is when prom hits. So, literally, can we say less than or a little over a month away? A little over a month. And we still got spring break. That's true. Spring break. And essentially, spring break starts today or after today for some folks. Well, for some people, they're going to start this week.

[00:35:06] But for Warren County schools, we've got one more week of school. And then we start off. So, we're in that third week of March. I was going to say. Now, last year. White County starts today. Yes. So, there are several surrounding counties that are starting spring break today. I'm sorry. I keep going back to that James Franco movie, Spring Breakers. Oh, I was like, where did I hear that from? Spring break. I love it. I love it. I love it. Real quickly, guys.

[00:35:34] Don't forget that newsletters are out and about if you haven't got one yet. And don't forget, too, if you want to. I'm going to be sending out some more. We got some more emails yesterday, Brian, on people wanting to be a part of our subscriber club. And if you want to subscribe to the newsletter, you just text the keyword local voice to 931-305-0869. Just like that. Yeah. Look at that. Your logo voice. Let's see if it comes up. Or do we do it like that?

[00:36:03] I've got to wait and delay here. Oh, you're fine. I did it reverse way. You probably need to do it. Oh. Well, we try to make it work. Something like that. Anyhow. Anywho, if you want to be a part of our local voice newsletter and you want to be heard, not only if you want to get it sent to you, if you ever have a story or have you heard, you know, yesterday somebody called me up and asked me about, oh my gosh, because I have to give credit to this. James Clark wrote about it.

[00:36:32] Um, uh, on Warren County Joyce page. Oh, now I have lost my train of thought. Uh, but a new potential business might be taken. They bought out big lots. Ollie's. Ollie's. Yes. Yes. That is the big talk right now. As of yesterday, one of the newest topics is, is Ollie's coming to Warren County? Well, I'm going to do some digging, but I did, uh, when I read that article and I read, um, what is going on with big lots.

[00:37:00] Um, again, I don't know if Ollie's is going to take over or not, but I do know tomorrow, uh, I will be going to Cookville or I won't be, but my mom will be. And they're, they always stop at an Ollie's. Okay. And so if I can, I'm going to try to see who I need to ask to get some information from just to confirm with that, you know? I'll tell you when I traveled to different areas, neck of the woods, like, uh, Mount Juliet, I lived in Mount Juliet for a little while. Um, lived in Jackson for a little while.

[00:37:28] Generally where you see a, uh, five below, you're going to see an Ollie's somewhere close by. And it's very funny how, you know, I don't know if you guys remember when all the Applebee's wound up going out of business, but there were certain businesses that kind of directly moved into Applebee's right after. Right. And you'll, you'll see that it's kind of common and looks like this is what, uh, the people at Ollie's are doing or, you know, these stores that are closing. It looks like taking them over because Ollie's is becoming a very popular little stop.

[00:37:56] I mean, my nephew and my brother love stopping in there. So again, we'll see, but I'll try to find out if it's for sure coming or not, but it wouldn't make a lot of sense because five, speaking of five below, it's right next door, uh, to the Sable Lawton right there on that strip. So it's all going to be on that plaza. I mean, you know, if you've been at Ollie's, tell us what you think of Ollie's. Megan just said Ollie's is an awesome place. So I'm just saying, or call us, you know what?

[00:38:25] Why don't you call us, Megan? And we'll take your call right now. And you can tell us all about your Ollie's experience. I've only been in Ollie's once and it was just at the front to grab something real quick. But my mother and brother and my nephews, they go to Cookville every other weekend, just about an Ollie's is a stop because they find all these, um, like a wrestler toys and things like that. And, you know, like good deals on some things. Yeah.

[00:38:52] Well, listen, I like being able to go other places and see what they have. Just like the five below stuff for me, five below is where I like to go to grab a lot of stuff for like Easter baskets and things like that. Yes. Little trinkets, something quickly you can pick up. And Ollie's is kind of in the, in the same boat with that. But I want to know from our viewers, what stores do you want to see come to Warren County? I think we need to do a poll or I would love to, you know what, we'll do it right now. I'm going to go on my Facebook page and make a post right now.

[00:39:20] Cause there's, there's a lot of great options for me. I'd like to see an Aldi's. I would love to have another grocery store because I'll admit one of the problems with our Kroger, there's one door in and one door out. Yeah. And it took forever to get the automated services where you can just go in and scan stuff. But now everything's kind of directed to that side. And I just get so frustrated with the, the scanner sometimes at Kroger. Yeah.

[00:39:49] Now Walmart, they've really come along with it and you know, yin and yang, everything. The whole idea is to make things more convenient. So I want to know from you guys, but I love going into all these. Now, one of the downsides of all these is a lot of them, you have to pay for a cart. And then. Oh, why do you have to pay for a cart? Well, across the country, there are lots of places that if you're going to use a cart, you have to put a quarter or something in to get it unlocked.

[00:40:17] Because first off, it detours theft of their carts. So. No way. Yes. Yes way. And secondly, it's just another added service. If you're going to do that, then they're going to, you've got a vested interest in that cart. You'll probably put it back. Oh, there we go. Okay. We're getting some people now. Oh, good Lord. Megan said Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's, Tina. Murphysburg's getting an In-N-Out burger. Get out of here, Jessica. No, they're not. I'm going to try it. I love In-N-Out burger. It is so good.

[00:40:46] Well, listen, every time I go out west. We go to Chattanooga. Well, is there one in Chattanooga? Yeah. Okay. I did not know this, but every time I go to visit my cousins out west, there's always a long line. It's like Chick-fil-A. But they say it goes through very quickly. But I want to try the animal style fries. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I haven't tried that one. I think it's like the chili and stuff. I will not be trying that. Oh, Kelly. After you had your week, I don't think you need to go right into that, the chili fries. Kelly, I am a true boneheaded man. Oh, there you go.

[00:41:16] I love spicy stuff. And I don't learn my lesson. No. And if I can't eat spicy food, just go ahead and kill me. I don't want to be in this world anymore. Again, I always say you only live here once. You know, be happy. Somebody also says, hey, that helps them be returned. Let's see. Aldi's. Oh, she's commenting on the buggies, I bet. Yeah, but. I've been to places where they charge a quarter to use the bathroom. As long as they're clean, I'm down with that. Oh, okay.

[00:41:45] I don't mind spending a quarter for a good clean bathroom. Megan says they use a key chain online now that makes it where you can get a cart and a return without paying. And then I'm assuming the In-N-Out Burger comment is for this. It's delicious and definitely long lines. Yeah. I mean, I've had burgers everywhere. And one of my best places, and I don't think you're, and I have to give a shout out to Tammy's Market. Oh, yeah. If you've not had a burger from Tammy's, you truly are missing out.

[00:42:14] And this is a true story. No offense to anybody else. No, no offense. But it's like, I don't know if they put it in all juice. I don't know. But the first time I had that is like maybe a couple, three or four years ago. And I was told, have you ever had a burger from Tammy's? I'm like, no. And they were like telling me how big it was. And you can split it between two people. And I was like, what? No way. So, and by the way, I live close to Tammy's. Like, I pass it every day.

[00:42:41] And I love Tammy's because they are actually one of our stops for our newsletters if you ever want to get some. And if they run out, tell them you want some more. But I went over there and, oh, man. I wish I could eat a burger there. I would eat a burger there every day because I like my burgers moist and juicy. And just, you know, when you don't, like it doesn't even need the cheese and stuff. It just, the burger speaks for itself. Well, I'm a sauce boss.

[00:43:10] And I'll tell you, after having that Sonic Smash burger the other day. Oh, my God. Oh, whatever sauce they're putting on that. Number two. That's that burger number two. Especially with how they make it with the onions and the, oh, and the, that, I don't know if it's groovy sauce or wacky sauce. I don't know. But it's delicious. And thank you, Brandy. She goes, I love, love, love Tammy's also. They have a bacon, egg, and cheese toaster with a little bit of mayo. It's amazing.

[00:43:38] My son is literally the pickiest eater and he is 2.5. What? It's two and a half. Two and a half. Oh, my bad. Good, good call. I didn't really understand. I was like, 25 or 25. And can eat a whole Tammy's burger. They are huge. Truly, it shocks me. When it's good, it's good. I'll tell you that. When it's good, it's good. But those burgers, if y'all, again, maybe we need to do another Derek Eats. Oh, yeah. With the burger challenge. Because, I mean, grilling season's coming when spring hits. Oh, yeah.

[00:44:07] Well, Megan, that reminds me of the movie Pulp Fiction. That's a mighty tasty burger. That's what it is. The Big Kahuna Burger. But now, yeah, let us know what your favorite burgers. So, we want to know what your favorite place, what kind of thing that you want to see come to Warren County. Yeah, it is posted on Facebook. I didn't get it on Instagram. But you can see right now what stores would you like to see in McMinnville. And so, make sure you check that. Of course, we did the five below picture.

[00:44:35] Because that's one of the newest stores that we're aware of that will be here. Yeah, like that and share that around. Let's find out what the consensus is. Yeah. And let's start a campaign. That's the beautiful thing about what we do. Yeah. We're not owned by anybody. You are the sole proprietor of the ship. I am sole proprietor. And we can sail it in any direction the captain sees fit. Up, down, left, right, diagonal, backwards, forwards. We want to go to the stories that you guys want to hear and you guys want to listen to.

[00:45:02] So, and we've got some really good stuff coming up in the near future. We do. We do. And now, again, we're going to hit now moving on to something nice, to something that, you know, not to step on anybody's toes. It was everybody's neutral ground here. But, of course, this week was the State of the Union Address with the President. Yes, yes, a lot of them. And it was a lot. Now that we've had some time to digest. Yeah. And because, I mean. I don't care to say my one horrible comment.

[00:45:31] Well, look, for people, they either love it, hate it, or are indifferent. They don't care. And what I hope is that everybody cares. And even if you love it, even if you don't love it. Yeah. Uh-oh. No, keep going. I will mention it in a second. So, yeah. We want to make sure that you guys are heard and that you guys let us know what you feel

[00:46:00] about the state of things. Keep it classy. Well, yeah. The only thing, I will say this. I don't know. Yeah, just whatever. But I want to say this and then I got to answer this text that it's about something I got to pick up today. Okay. Um, I just wish, you know, and I know sometimes, and I think that where President Trump is coming from is there is a lot of, I don't want to say the word hostility. There's a lot of passion for what he does.

[00:46:28] But at the same time, sometimes I do wish that we could have like a nice, like peaceful, like, I like people that are direct and talking and blunt. But sometimes when it gets to like a taunting or a ha-ha or poking thing, I get a little like, but at the same time, when people do that, and I don't just say just with President Trump, but anybody, it overshadows sometimes the good that is being done.

[00:46:58] And the only thing out of that taunting and that poking that I did agree with the statement he said was even if I found a cure for the worst disease, or even if I found like, you know, something that is just something miraculous that I can find and we can fix it today, right? They would not be clapping. That's the only thing that I was like, but again, I just wish we would have. Does that make sense?

[00:47:28] I don't know how to say it in a nicer way. No one wants to antagonize folks. Yeah. And, and I see why he said it because it's just letting folks know there's one side of the room that's not going to be happy about anything, even if, you know, he solves or cures a tragic or, or bad disease. Yeah. But on top of everything, we're Americans first. Yeah. We have to have a love for the country. So a lot of the stories that were brought out were about the country.

[00:47:58] Now, of course, any party is going to take credit for all the things that are going on. But I think a big thing is, is about the policies. Ultimately, it's about the policies and with the things that they signed, especially this week, keeping men, biological men out of female sports is a, for me, is huge because I don't want to see, and if you ever go want to find out what it's like for a physiological male

[00:48:26] to be in women's sports, look at MMA and look at, look up the name Fallon Fox. Well, they had that girl from the volleyball team that got spiked hard and now she's paralyzed, partially paralyzed on her right side and she can't play sports anymore. And I really got to hear a lot of this. I got to go to a speaking engagement in Williamson County last year, February before last, and got to meet Riley Gaines and her, I mean, sitting next to her like this. It was thoroughly impressive. The Williamson County Republican Women's Party put on this thing.

[00:48:56] And I wanted to take my children, my girls to see it. Yeah. And they were so empowered to find out that there are women fighting back, that there are women trying to keep men out of sports. And guys, I'm a firm believer in this just me. And I might sound old fashioned, but I believe there are two sexes. I have to. That's just the way if you look at DNA, that's, you know, you either have two X chromosomes or an XY chromosome. Like it's science. That's science.

[00:49:25] You can't make, that's not them you're making up. I can't fight with that. So, but I do believe that there are people that feel, and if you're an adult, hey, you be you boo. Yeah. As long as it doesn't infringe on me and my beliefs and my rights, as long as it doesn't affect my children, I, Hey, if you're an adult do it, but I don't think it's the government's responsibility to be picking and choosing or letting children pick and choose.

[00:49:48] You don't let children pick and you don't allow children to go get tattoos or buy cigarettes or anything that can be potentially change their name. So, yeah. So this, this is one of those things where the policies are kind of resonating for themselves. They're speaking for themselves. And so I was very happy to see the things that went on, especially with protecting our women in sports. That to me, that was, that was a big thing.

[00:50:18] That was a big one. Yeah. Especially, you know, they showed that they showed the volleyball player that got hit. And, you know, they also talked about all the new rules and regulations. They talked about this one little girl that got hurt by an illegal immigrant and they named, because she was into animals in the forest and stuff like that. And they named a park in honor of her because, you know, there was a lot of touching things.

[00:50:47] And I know that some people said like they're doing like with the little boy that defeated brain cancer and things like that. I know that people are saying that those are fluff pieces like, you know, like a poster child. I've heard all those things. But at the end of the day, when you do state of the unions and it's the beginning of the things, every president has done that. This is nothing new. But with that said, there was policies and procedures that I was grateful for. Just like, you know, for the sports.

[00:51:17] I played sports in high school and middle school. And, you know, and at the time, I will say this, you know, we didn't have fast pitch softball. And we were that was the year that girls were saying, well, can I play baseball? Can I try baseball with the boys? And there was a big pull like, no, it's different. It's different. You cannot, you know, and that's why now they that's what fast pitch softball got created. So, again, I understand that one wholeheartedly.

[00:51:47] And you can do the science, guys, no matter what. But if you have whatever chromosomes, whatever you got, if you are where when you were born and you were a man and you decide to get into, say, a swimming sport, for example. Men will out beat the women in certain things every time. It just is how it is. Well, on average, men are built taller. Yes. They generally have bigger feet. Yeah. They generally have bigger hands. More muscle structure. More muscle structure.

[00:52:19] And that's one of the things you find with women's sports, the more active. And I say more active. The more muscle mass women put on, the more their testosterone generally increases. Generally. But the thing is, is we want things to be fair. We want to protect our children, especially our daughters. And so this crossing, this blending of the culture in the sense where we're letting men go into women's restrooms. We're letting, you know, biological men go into women's restrooms.

[00:52:50] There's a reason why there are men and women's restrooms. Men don't want to go into a women's restroom. Women don't want men going into their restroom. They don't want to go into a nasty old men's restroom. I never want to go into men's restroom. When the women's line's long and there's no men in there and they're like, well, hey, go in here. That's got to be a real hard time right there. Yes. And whenever you have to cringe, that's Jesus telling you, hey, you probably don't want to go there. No. But with that said, we have a lot of comments about this.

[00:53:19] Starting off with JCPT. He says the Canadians removed all U.S. goods off the shelf so their citizens won't have to pay the tariff tax. And that's one thing that he did talk about in his speech. Well, another thing, because things have been unfair. As far as pricing goes, it's not that we don't want to use what China and Canada and all these other places. But if you're going to tax us a million dollars, well, then we'll, it's vice versa. And I agree with that. It needs to be reciprocal.

[00:53:48] And the thing is, people who have been putting, who have been in charge of these tariffs and trade regulations, things, they're bureaucrats. They're government politicians. Their livelihood doesn't necessarily depend on it. And so what we're seeing through Doge with a lot of the uncovering of the finances and the different things that we're becoming aware of now is that this money goes somewhere. It goes to someplace.

[00:54:13] And so we want to make sure that we have for our American farmers, for our American manufacturers, that they have a fighting chance that they can get the best profit margin. And it will balance out. It always does. That's the beautiful thing about capitalism. Go back to Adam Smith, the unforeseen hand of change or demand, supply and demand. It always comes down to that. So I'm and I know that Trudeau has pivoted.

[00:54:42] And so he's been getting killed in the polls over the last year and a half. And Pierre Pollier, the minority leader for the conservative group in parliament. What they're trying to do is they're trying to be Canadian first. Well, now that Trump has been going after and going after Canada, going after Trudeau, Trudeau has pivoted. And now it's about Canadians first. Now, this is all of a sudden Canadians first. But here's the problem that Canada has, which America has, too.

[00:55:12] They've let a lot of foreign immigration come in, especially through China. So guys, I've been there. I've been to Trudeau. Yeah, you actually have Canadian friends coming next week. Well, my family lives there. Yeah. So I've been able to see there. And there are places where if you're backed by the Chinese government and you have money, which their dollar has more buying power than the Canadian dollar. So they have a housing crisis.

[00:55:42] Another bad policy that Trudeau imposed is drug zones where drugs can take place, where people do drugs. And that's really big, especially in the inner cities. And it keeps growing and growing and growing. Another thing that they have is car thefts. And, huh, I wonder why there's car thefts. Because people who steal cars generally take this money and go out and buy drugs. Yeah. I mean, it's part of it. I mean, doing what you're doing together.

[00:56:09] If you don't believe me, go online and look at free drug zones in Canada. They have it. It's amazing. So when you see this, and I know a lot of times we get caught up in our little part of the world. Yeah. But there is a movement going on across the world where, especially with the Europeans, a big news just yesterday is the European Union has backed Zelensky and say, hey, we're going to now pay these billions and billions of dollars.

[00:56:38] For you to keep your war. For you to keep your war going on. And so why couldn't they do that? Why was the U.S. the main financier of the Ukrainian war? Look. There's some things I think everybody needs to help. As long as, you know, I said this earlier last week about stuff. If you're going to help us, then we'll help you. Like if you're going to do a million dollars. Like as long as you're getting taken care of and I'm getting taken care of, it's fine.

[00:57:03] Well, that's what Trump did with NATO from the very beginning and said, hey, look, the U.S. is paying 90 percent of NATO. Yeah. We need to scale back just like the U.N. Now with groups like the U.N., the Chinese have really started paying more. And you look at the World Health Organization. The Chinese have a huge lock on the World Health Organization. In fact, when COVID rolled around, there was a lot of stuff. You could go on your YouTube feed and you could see all this propaganda stuff from China.

[00:57:32] And it's like, where did this stuff come from? I mean, so, yeah, there's a lot of things that we can't see. But we have to take everything, decipher it and figure out what's really going on. We owe it to search it. We got a lot of comments. Let's go through these. Megan says, you didn't see us downing Biden every chance we got, even though he didn't know where he was half the time. Poor guy was literally experiencing elder abuse.

[00:57:58] That, again, Junior says, I want to see grocery prices come down to earth. The meat prices could double in prices in the next six weeks from what he's hearing. And again, with change, there's going to come some fluctuation back and forth, I do think. Brandy says, how can the one side be all about science this and science that, but totally block out genders? It's so hard for her to grasp.

[00:58:27] Then Megan fires back, I think, on the Junior comment, because a lot of beef we get from Mexico has been found to have worms in it. Plus, we are also having a local shortage on beef. And then Junior says, or JC says, when does spring high school football camps start? I don't know when the camps start, but they had the parent meetings last night. They did. So that's exciting. And did you tell our folks about meeting Coach Blue?

[00:58:57] We did. We did. Okay. Okay. Yes. Yeah, we did. We covered that. We covered. We did. Yeah. I was going to say, we covered that, I thought. Yeah, it was so exciting meeting him and he has just got such a good presence about him. Going on, NAFTA was restricted or restructured under his first term. I don't know the specifics, but what is different? What is different in four years? And then he said, Toronto is cool.

[00:59:26] I'm ready to go back. Him and his wife actually visited Toronto. Toronto. My family left Toronto the year before last. Yeah. Now they're in Montreal. Oh. So we do drive through Toronto coming back from time to time. Sorry, guys. Just trying to get back on those comments. Keep them coming. Yes. Hey, yes. Thank you so much because, look, guys, a lot of us don't get out or we're limited to our own perspective. So we're broadening our horizons, sharing our perspectives, getting to engage with one another.

[00:59:57] 100%. Look, I tell my people, I'm the most conservative liberal and I'm the most liberal conservative. I want to do what's best for Warren County. Exactly. So being able to share these thoughts. Thank you, guys. Thank you for enlightening us. But no, NAFTA, one of the worst things. And guys, although it went in like in effect when Clinton was in office, we had a Republican Congress. It was actually the Bushes that got NAFTA started. And so, you know, they're there.

[01:00:26] They own Texas. Yes. Not really, but they have a lot of influence in Texas. So. I'm going to text Lippy on this, by the way, to figure out about spring football. Hold on. Yeah. And so, yeah. So meat prices may go up. I mean, buy pork. Yeah. Chicken. And we've already seen a lot of stuff going on with chickens. Guys, it's going to fluctuate. It's going to. Every time we get a new president or get a new administration in, it shifts, especially

[01:00:53] when we go from four years with a Democratic president and now we're going to go in four years with a Republican, you know, or I should say administration, not president, because it's as a whole. But this is the first time in history we've ever seen government get smaller. And that's never happened in history. It doesn't matter who's, if it's a Republican or a Democrat. So Trump is actually following through with his promises of what he said he was going to do. And so I found the State of the Union very interesting.

[01:01:23] Look, some people, they're not going to be happy. And my question is, do you hate Trump more than you love the United States? Oh, that's a good question. Because I think, you know, aside from Trump and I like him. Okay. I mean, he's all right. That's why I say he's all right. I have to remind myself that he's a New Yorker. He's not a good old boy that I go hang out and go. He's not raised in the South. No.

[01:01:53] I mean, he's a brash New York guy. A lot of vibrato. Very blunt. Been in. But I mean, no one can deny his success. Right. I mean, to me, even with Biden, even with all these politicians, you got to have an amount of ego to be able to be in these races, to run for things. Yeah. That's true. I mean, that's so true. You have to have some ego. You got to have some intelligence. You got to have some gumption. You got to have some like, uh.

[01:02:20] And, you know, and again, he obviously he has something because he's look at his track record. As you said, success. Somebody said this the other day, and I was really taken aback by it. Look at his children. Yeah. Look at what kind of children he's raised. And if you look, Tiffany's the only one who doesn't really have high profile as far as but you look at Ivanka, you look at, uh, uh, Eric and Don Jr.

[01:02:47] And you look at Barron and guys, if you don't know, Barron is becoming a cultural icon because he's not platformed as in the open because he's been protected. Everybody that I listen to that has talked about Barron says this guy is one of the most engaging, energetic, uh, funny, self-deprecating. He can make fun of himself and that's really, you don't see that with a, with a lot of young people, but very engaging, uh, person.

[01:03:15] So when you see the, the, the children that he's raised, none of them, you don't find them with drug habits. You don't find them going to jail. You don't find them with cocaine all around the white house or anything like that. You know, it's, it's very interesting. You can tell people by the little things that they do. And that's, that's a big quality. Um, I wish I kept my beard nicer and my hair dyed more. Sorry folks, but no, but, but by the little things you should know them. And I agree. I agree.

[01:03:44] That's Trump in a nutshell. And then, uh, talking about the meat prices, you know, if you buy, uh, Megan said, if you buy beef in bulk locally, it's going to be cheaper. We got our cow from Hillis custom processing for $2 and 35 cents a pound. And it's real meat. And then Brandy said, I buy meat from the butcher. I mean, we have a lot of local shops here now where this is the time where you need to support locals.

[01:04:11] You know, I know with a lot of businesses because of the FDA regulations and everything, they're not allowed to buy from some of these, these people. Uh, but we're going to get through this. We are. We're, we're going to, it, it always happens like this. Now. Yeah. Sometimes the prices go real high, but if you can find and start prepping now, I mean, really this, you know, a lot of people keep talking about six weeks from now.

[01:04:38] James Carvel, uh, one of the democratic strategists from Louisiana, which I love his accent. I love some of his funny stories. He's been talking about things happening in the next six weeks. Uh, a lot of people were talking about things happening in the next six weeks, not to be a fear monger or anything, but Hey, go ahead. There's nothing wrong with preparing a little bit. Go ahead. Now, if I go to Walmart or Kroger and I see that everything's bought out just like during COVID, man, I felt like we were, I was back in the 80s. Milk, bread and toilet paper.

[01:05:07] 80s Russia, I mean, with, with all the, the shelves that were empty. I mean, I don't think it's going to get that bad. We've got our production lines open as long as we keep our ports open, which that was another thing that Trump, uh, has really been working towards, but look, we got people that are actually doing things. You're hearing about things getting done. And to me, that's a good thing. Yeah. I mean, uh, new contracts are being signed and to back up on, uh, Brandy's statement

[01:05:36] that the United States of America should be ran like a business. And that's what we are business at the end of the day, whether you work or not, whether you're retired, you're collecting unemployment or, um, Oh, I've just lost it or collecting social security. At the end of the day, if you want to get your money, United States, we have to treat the whole state.

[01:06:06] I look at it like that. One of the big things that they're, they're trying to get approved is anybody who gets social security, that money is not taxed. Yeah. So anybody who says they're against social security or that's insane. Another thing is tips on for, for people who depend on tips through their, uh, waiters and waitresses and all the, there's a ton of different occupations that, that get paid in tips. Those don't get taxed. Oh man.

[01:06:36] As a guy who grew up in the restaurant business, I love that. And if, you know, if I were my, uh, 20 year old self again, I would, I would be working all the time. And then for all the, uh, overtime folks. Yeah. Look, man, not getting, not having to pay tax on overtime. That's one of the things, especially with nurses, we're like, ah, you know, we can work overtime, but it's not that much of a difference because when you, when you count the tax or

[01:07:02] what you're going to get taxed on, it makes it just a little better, but not that much better. Not, not worth really pushing yourself. And I want to say this on, uh, one of the topics of, uh, us taking it, you know, with, uh, talking about Doge and Elon Musk and doing some cutbacks on things at the end of the day, I think we need to start fresh and by go. And when I say that, I say, we need to start back from the beginning to see what cut, cut our, I don't want to say cut our losses, cut back on a lot of these things.

[01:07:33] I'm not saying that we should not help out other countries, but we need to check our checkbook first. Like as, like, if you think about it as a family household, the United States is a family household, right? And we have our little, our little, you know, account book. We're like, okay, Brian, let's go through what we're doing now. Hey, uh, we downloaded this rocket app and it's telling us all our overspending. Do you realize you're still subscribed to this and you're subscribed

[01:07:59] to that? And you know, are you even using that anymore? Do you, do you even have use for that? That's a great comparison to what Doge is. Doge is like the new rocket. Yeah. Thank you. I was thinking about that yesterday. And, and, you know, you look at all this overspending and then you think, well, why is it? And again, I go back to local stuff, right? Where people say, why can't you give this to the nonprofit? Why are you cutting this down?

[01:08:24] All these things. And then you, but again, we need to get back to how this started first with us and then see where we can help to make our community grow or, or, you know, our family. And I say this as a whole, as the United States, whether you're a black, white, yellow, pink, purple, or red, we need to like, if you live in the United States of America, let's get our budget balanced first.

[01:08:49] And then be like, Oh, well we have say a million dollars of extra money. We could put in emergency fund over here. Right? Because we've talked about this a lot with other companies. And then we're like, Oh, so Brian, you're from Ukraine. You need help, man. Well, I can't give you a million, but I'll give you 20 K. Well, and speaking on that term, it's, isn't it funny how the Europeans

[01:09:14] just now started filling the void that they, I guess they could have done it all along. How long ago? When could they've done this? But that's where we have to take the America first platform and say, Hey, look, we've got to take care of our homelessness. We've got to get housing. Look, people can't afford houses right now. We don't have jobs that pay, especially here in Warden County. We don't have jobs that pay enough to be able to buy a $350,000 house of the interest rates that

[01:09:43] are going on right now. You're looking at close to $2,000 a month. Now, please forgive me. I'm ballparking. That's why we need to get a realtor person here. And maybe you can go over to Shane and them and see who at the Tri-County Citizens Bank right across the street here and talk to one of their people that does housing loans. Yeah. That would be a good thing to have them come in and talk about the interest rates and things like that. I can get Susan Bain. She is with a Tree City Real Estate.

[01:10:07] Oh, awesome. Awesome. I can get her on. Because this is, this is the stuff that affects us directly. But yeah, JC, I wish that we could go ahead and I wish that our retirement could be secured just by our social security, but it can't. We don't pay out enough. And look, we don't have enough people. Is that something we can fix in the future or is that something that can be fixed now? Well, we need more people paying in. That's the thing. It's almost to the brink of 50-50. So the

[01:10:36] people that are working. So another thing is, is that because the government spends so much money and that's where it is, you really have the people that are paying in, the people that are receiving, and then the government in between. So we got to make sure that the people that are paying in can support the people who are receiving. Okay. That's really what it is. But it really depends on how much the government, the people right here that are- Outside spending. Or we can get here. Yeah. That are in the intermediate.

[01:11:04] So maybe by doing this, changing things around like Trump is trying to do and the administration is trying to do, maybe we can get to that maybe one day. Well, one of the things is balancing the budget because, oh, I can't remember if we're at $36 trillion in debt. That's insane. And so no one gets to walk around with debt like that. Yeah. No one does, but the government does. That's irresponsible. And if we live like that, then

[01:11:31] we would be bankrupt. We'd be living on the street most likely. So we've got to take control of the government spending. Things have to be accounted for. And there's just been poor accounting in the government. We need accountability and we need balance. Yes. And they're going to do that. Well, by doing this, and one of the things, and folks, let me know what you think. Yeah. By making all this savings, they're talking about redistributing the money back to the people. They are. So, you know, $5,000.

[01:12:01] And giving back to the vets. I've heard that too. They're planning on doing it. It's just a whole thing. And Brandy says, when overtime hits, you're only working for Uncle Sam. It's pointless. But most of the time, you're mandatory to work it or get fired. Dang, if you do and dang, if you don't situation. It's ridiculous in my book. Then she comes back and says, when every vet is off the street and every person is fed in our country, then we can lend a hand

[01:12:29] to others. We have to take care of our people first. America first. And as you said, going back on America first, and now they're saying, you know, Canadians first. Like, it's a trend thing. Like, we need to take care of our people first. But again, to me, that should be an unspoken law. Like, that should have already been done. Can I say that? That should have already... Why is this just new? Well, look, in the case of somebody drowning... I'm going to stand up while you talk. You're good.

[01:12:58] My leg would kill me. In the case of somebody drowning, you have to take care of yourself before you can save that person from drowning. You can't go out there if they're still flailing around and let them drag you to your death as well. Oh, even in an airplane. They tell you in an airplane, before you put your oxygen mask on your child, parent, even though that's your first... You need yours on first, then them. Again, I'm just saying, there's always these processes you got to go through. And I don't

[01:13:28] know why... And I hate to say what I'm going to say, but I think women can agree with me what I'm going to say. I feel like sometimes it's like a man's mind. They're going a mile a minute. Like, they can't focus on one thing first. It's like, oh, squirrel over here, bird. You know, we got to do this, this, and this. And I feel like it's always been kind of out of line and out of sync. And I think it's time for us to get in sync and to be accountable

[01:13:53] for actions. You don't see Trump saying, you know, bash this and bash that. He's like, no, I'm going to fix this and I'm going to fix that. And I think we finally have somebody in the administration that is going to clean things up. And I'm telling you, we need to enjoy these four years while you can. And we need to be supportive. And I go on both sides with Democrats and the Republicans and the independents on this. We need to be cheering as a nation

[01:14:23] that we are doing some good things. We are helping out the American people. And I don't understand how that's getting twisted. Well, I'll tell you what's being twisted is the spear mongering by saying, oh, the bottom is going to fall out. One of the big things that a lot of people were saying in the, during the campaign is that, oh, if Trump gets in office, he's going to start collecting people

[01:14:50] who don't agree with him and start putting them in concentration camps. Oh, come on, man. That's insane. But the thing is, both sides do it. Both sides fear monger. But this stuff about Trump, we've already lived through one presidency. Now in this presidency, I feel like he knows who to trust and who not to trust. And that's one of the things you're going to see. There's going to be a big fight in the Republican Party. Look, we're seeing it on local levels here. We are.

[01:15:17] With who's really conservative and who says they're conservative. Yeah. You're about to fight now. Yeah. And the thing is, is riding the red wave right now, you know, you're going to win in places like Warren County because nearly 80% of people voted for Trump here at Warren County. So it strikes me odd that we have the few Democrats that we have still, still in power. But hey, look, I mean,

[01:15:44] people are going to pick who they want to pick, but you have to be aware of what's going on. And you have to do the research to find it because this is, again, there's so many media outlets, guys. You got to do the investigating yourself sometimes because one media outlet may say that there's a 60, 40% people agree with what the Democrats are saying. And then another one will say the Republicans are saying. And, you know, again, you've got to do the research and find who is

[01:16:14] trying to tell you the best truth. And I know that's hard in the world that we live in. And I think it is sad. Let me say this. I said this on the show before I think with Brian on Monday, it is sad that these media marketing companies take advantage of us because they, again, sometimes I don't like reporting certain stories because how horrible it is and how truthful it is.

[01:16:40] But at the end of the day, this show is about transparency. And if I like it or don't, I need to talk about it because that's my due diligence here on this show. But when you hear after everything's been said and done that social media is was controlled by the government and they couldn't say certain things and do certain things. And I'm like, oh, what? Fake news, Kelly. That's not the truth.

[01:17:06] Right. But it happened to us. This is happening. And it is so hard for me as a citizen of the United States now to listen to half of the crap. And I'm going to say it that way. That's on the news now. And I do. Oh, to myself as a registered voter, as a citizen of the United States of America, if I hear something, I'm going to go over here. I'm going to get on this. I'm going to get on my

[01:17:32] laptop and I'm going to be like, OK, let's look this up. And there are websites like Scoops and oh, Snopes. No, Snopes. And there's websites you can go to to debug stuff. And that is what we owe each other to just keep the truth as best as it can be, because I do not want any more clouds. I want to just have a clear sky. You know, I'm just over it.

[01:18:02] Well, that's what makes our platform so neat. We have a few sponsors and we're very grateful for our sponsors, but we're beholden to you. So we want to make sure that we get it right. And sometimes I get it wrong. Sometimes I get it wrong. And so please let me know. My wife, she calls me out. Anybody else, please feel free to call me out. We want to make sure that you guys are informed. Yes.

[01:18:27] But, and I hate to say this, we're going to have kind of opinion because we're Warren County first. Yeah. We're Warren first. Yeah. And so if people don't think, you know, that that's right, that we should be other counties first or. Or I'm sorry. I live in Warren County. My heart is here. We'll make a stand. I want the best for everybody, but I want to make sure we're good first and then everybody's great.

[01:18:55] So we, we do offer some opinion, but we want to make sure that we get the story straight. Yeah. And we want to know, because first and foremost, before we're Warren County, before we're, before we're Brian and Kelly, we answer to God Almighty. 100%. Fear the Lord, baby. That's true. And we can go out, we can honestly, we can tell you that, and I'm not ashamed of it. No. She's not ashamed of it. Ask me any time. Yeah. We're Christians first. So we want to make sure. Now, are we going to be perfect? No.

[01:19:24] Oh no. Oh no. I've had a lot of moments. Oh, I still do. And so the thing is, but we want to make sure that when we say these things, don't get it twisted. We're not jumping on the Republican bandwagon. We're not, we're not doing anything. We want to be, do what's best for Warren County. And so we've got stories to cover, especially this big story and issue that, that, that we keep. And we've got more. More information is coming and we'll talk a little bit about that and then cut to break,

[01:19:52] but we will actually be, like I said, on the week, this show this week, a big thing was I, I didn't really want to necessarily tour issue. I've been out there before. I've had friends that go out there, but in order for them to get an interview, hopefully with them, I have to go out there and do a tour because my big thing is I'm trying to get somebody, a representative, just one or two or whoever. I don't care if we do a whole round table at

[01:20:19] this point for the podcast and have somebody on just to answer the tough questions. And if they don't feel comfortable answering them, they simply can just say, I can't, I'm not at liberty to ask, or they could say, oh, well, I can't answer that. And then we just move on because my whole point of having them on here is to try to have an understanding of what's going on up there, as well as to ease the minds of Warren County. Well, with any group, you want to know what

[01:20:47] they're about, what they practice. And so if they're a Christian group, you want to make sure that they're a Christian group. If they're a Hindu group, you want to make sure they're Hindu. Or if it's a non-denominational and everybody's welcome, you know, just like breaking it down. And so like, if you missed our first episode of Isha, we talked about with Vanessa Miller, shout out to her. She is amazing at what she does. She is one of the many philanthropists in this,

[01:21:12] in a mover and shaker in this community. We had a show last Friday and we talked about, you know, what is a 501c3? What does that mean? What guidelines, what rules they have to follow? Because of course, and I say this over and over talking about America again, when people move here from other countries, they are trying to get out of a bad situation. And that, and again, when you're on American soil, you need to follow the guidelines and the rules of what all Americans,

[01:21:40] all business owners have to follow and all nonprofits have to follow. And we just want to make sure that they're doing their due diligence in doing that. Because again, as far as our paperwork has seen as of last week that we talked about, we were kind of at a crossroads. We can't find any more of what we discussed on. So look into that, watch it. But we are going to do another part two

[01:22:03] series next Friday, a week from today with me, Brian and Vanessa. And we're going to talk about the episode essentially is what's going to be called. Is it a private club or is it a nonprofit? And then we're going to break that down of like, you know, the properties that they own and things like that. And to get more of a justification and then maybe buy us touring tomorrow. And I always say all our Christians out there, pray for us as we go on this journey. All right. We're going there

[01:22:32] this weekend at 430. And we're going to make sure that we're, you know, everybody knows transparency. Transparency. I'm very transparent. You know, we're going up there. We want to make sure we come back. Yeah. Not saying that in, you know, we'll be back. We'll be back on Monday. Light or anything. We just want everybody, we want to be transparent, let everybody know what's going on and what we're doing. But yes, we're going to go up there and investigate. We're going to ask them questions,

[01:23:00] whatever they choose to answer. I mean, we're going to be polite and, you know, not be accusing. We're not trying to shut anything down. We're just trying to get some clarification right now. But yeah, it's much bigger than what I originally thought because for me, I thought, oh, it's just some hippies up on the mountain wanting to do some yoga. No, this is international. This is all over the world. This goes all the way to India. Yeah. This is crazy. The type of money that we're talking about,

[01:23:26] they can buy Warren County several times over. Oh, yeah. So yeah. So all these people that are in positions, we need to take this seriously because when we're talking about 25, just 25,000 people, that would change the voting block. That would change who we can have as our county executive. It could change all the people that are on. It could change a lot of things. All the municipal and utility boards that we have, they can decide they don't want you on that board

[01:23:54] and put whoever they want on the board as well. That's correct. That's correct. And again, guys, thanks for all the comments. Brandy, everyone needs to be held accountable. And that's all. Again, we want everybody to be accountable. And then also, if y'all ain't back Monday, I'm coming with Brian. If you ain't at church Sunday, I'll be there sooner. I should be at church. I hated missing Wednesday night. You need to let everybody know if you're not at church Sunday because you don't feel good. Make sure.

[01:24:25] But no, seriously, I'm looking forward to taking a tour at ISHA and asking questions and just seeing all the new improvements that they got up there. If they let us, and I'm again, transparent, if they let us take pictures or videos while we're doing the tour, like I do, you know, we did yesterday. We did a walking tour of the Southern Blue Buildings, the townhouses. If they let us do that, I'm going to go live just so everybody can see it.

[01:24:52] If not, we'll just tell you, we'll tell you our findings later that day. But Jessica says, I worked with one of the doctors from ISHA years ago at a free clinic, and she is precious. And again, there are nice people in this world. I'm just going to say that. Yeah. Hey, look. Not hating nothing. The ones that I met that voted at the shelves for. Right. You were there. Yeah. Really, really nice people.

[01:25:17] We want to make sure, especially when it comes to using county resources that they're putting back in because it looks like they're able to. And this, it's not us saying this. Other places, if you think this is the only place they are, you're wildly mistaken. Go online and look up ISHA USA. Look at properties. All you got to do is if you know how to use AI, you just type in the ISHA Foundation. Oh, it's a lot. It's a lot.

[01:25:46] There is a lot of information. That you also have to debug through all that. But again, there's a lot. They started this in the mid-90s. So, oh yeah, it goes way back. Oh yeah. But with that, we're going to take one quick break, and then we're going to come back and talk about how our weekend's going to go. Oh, oh, oh, oh, wait. Hold on. Let's see what it is. Okay.

[01:26:13] We are going to come back and tell you all about the middle school beta the results are in. But like I said, I want to do one quick break. So, keep it here, Warren County. [01:27:40] Oh, crap. What's the soup of the day? Oh, she walking away. Oh. What's the soup called today? Parmesan Tortellini. Parmesan Tortellini. It is so good, guys. I love it. But with that said, currently in downtown McMinnville, we are now getting a little warmer, Brian. Oh, yeah. It is 51 degrees. The sun is coming out right now. But don't forget, at 2 o'clock, the wind's going to be coming down and knocking the temps back down into like the 40s and the 30s.

[01:28:10] So enjoy this 60, 50, 60 degree weather while we can. Enjoy the sun. And again, the rest of the weekend is going to be in the mid-50s. And again, it's just going to be great. And don't forget, thanks again to our community weather sponsors, which is Reddick Brown Ford. And don't forget to even check out that complimentary pickup and delivery service if you ever need like an oil change or windshield wiper change or clean out your car, things like that.

[01:28:38] But with that said, I am so excited. And I want to say thanks to Melody Crim. I don't know. Should we get her on to talk about it? Oh, that'd be awesome. Hold on. Let me see if she'll answer. Oh, my mom tried to FaceTime me this morning. Let's see. I should have asked her while we were doing commercial break, but sorry. Sorry, not sorry. As we're going to go on, we're going to see because Melody should really report this.

[01:29:05] Hey, would you like to report the results or you want us to do it? Do you want to report the results or do you want us? All right. Melody's on the phone, guys. Say hi, Mel. Hi. You're already live on air. We already got you, boo. Are we live on air? We are. Hi, everybody. Okay, it's Melody.

[01:29:31] I'm down here at the Leadership Summit. I have not seen Bobby Ray this morning. But Bobby Ray Elementary is the only elementary school that did come this weekend. And we have the middle school and the high school. And the middle school just finished. They qualified for nationals. And they took home four plaques.

[01:30:01] Right now at the top of my head. I cannot remember what they are, but I did post pictures. We are waiting currently to find out about the high school plaques and whether Dakota Moore got the leadership position.

[01:30:47] Oh. They took care of their heart on their out-of-the-box proposal this morning. I crashed before they did. I was just done. And they somehow, between when I stopped and the end of the night, changed topics completely and started all the way over. Oh, wow. And when I got up this morning, let me tell you something. That project board looked like something that had been worked on for three weeks. Oh, wow. Not four or five hours. It looked incredible. Yeah.

[01:31:16] These kids are amazing. And I'm going to tell you, sitting in that room, listening to them go over everything, these kids are whip smart. I'm just learning stuff I didn't know. Wow. And it's just, it's wild ideas they have. And these are going to be great community leaders when they get older. They've got a grasp on current situations and things that need to happen. It's inspiring. It really is. This has been so much fun. Yeah.

[01:31:46] And again, Melody, I did send you a link if you were interested in maybe getting one of the kids on with you this morning. If you want to tap in, it's up to you. If not, it's okay. She's not a theater child. Now, the high schoolers are in the room and the middle schoolers are already on the road. So, safe prayers for them, please, for safe travels. His car is with them. Miss McGee stayed with me. Oh, Sarah.

[01:32:12] And then we've got the other, we've got the high school sponsor, Miss April, staying because I'm tired. But she's also still here for the high school kids. Okay. But, yeah, unfortunately, I do not have any children anywhere near me. They are all in there listening to results. And we're very, very, super excited. As y'all should be.

[01:32:37] So, again, this is a great win, a great stride for the Warren County community. Once again, we just talked about this. Hey, guys, we're going to nationals. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I'm going to nationals because it's in Orlando in June and I just can't do that kind of level of heat. I know. The kids are already asking if I'm going to go again. And I'm like, probably I'll try to hit state because, I mean, this really was just inspiring to watch. I love it. Thanks so much.

[01:33:07] And we can't wait to hear the story. This all will be in our newsletter next week as well. So, again, guys, just, I just, I'm so glad that you could be out there supporting them and, you know, showing Warren first is all about Warren County. I hope you had a good time. Yeah. Oh, I did. I did. I had to threaten him last night. I said, y'all, we've got to get up at 7 o'clock. I said, I'm going to come in there and wake you up the first time. If you don't get up, I'm going to bring ice buckets. Oh, no.

[01:33:36] If that doesn't work, I'm going to start singing. And y'all do not want that. But everybody that had to get up this morning got up and they were up and going. And one of my kids, Sky, who I absolutely adore, she opened the door already half dressed. She's still wearing her pajamas, but she's got a full face of makeup on. And I was like, okay, you're getting it. Yeah, I love it. I love it. Well, thanks, Melody. We're going to be safe travels for you guys. Keep it posted. And I can't wait to see more of the videos.

[01:34:06] Yes. So I've got one more that I'm going to post. And then once the kids, once the high schoolers come out, we'll do photos with them. And I'm going to also try to get Dakota to come on and talk about the leadership position and what that means and what that entails in more detail. All right. And hopefully we can get some of these kids to come on the podcast during spring break. Yes. I was going to say, start talking to some of them and seeing who wants to come. Yeah.

[01:34:36] Because they've done an incredible job. And as I said yesterday, this is not the full beta. There are so many more kids. This was just a select few. Wow. This is ever so growing. But thank you so much doing what you do. Let me know when you're on the road and stuff. Okay. Okay. Will do. All right. Bye, Mel. Hang on. I'm going to put you on. I'm going to put you on. So guys, I've got... Switching it up. Hang on. Okay. So I've got... Okay. Look, you're on Warren first.

[01:35:05] Hey, this is Elizabeth Carr. My daughter, one part of the twins. And they're in the minivan with Miss Carr. And... I just want to know first, is Miss Carr driving? No. What? Is Miss Carr driving? Yes, she is. Thank you. All right. Well, good. We'll start praying now. Oh, she's fine. She's made this trip before. But hey, ladies. Because guys, they have a car full of ladies.

[01:35:34] Hey, you're online right now. We're talking with you. I'm on the phone with him right now. Tell her you're on Warren first right now. I'm on Warren first. So tell us what you won. We won project proposal, lead outside the box, and what's called collaboration connection. All right. So you guys are... It was a preservation award.

[01:36:01] So you guys are now going to be in the nationals. What? You're going to be in the national competition, right? Yes, sir. Oh, I love it. How excited is the bus of going to the nationals? Oh, we are very excited. So let me hear the excitement. Get everybody like woohooing and hollering. Y'all start hollering. I love it.

[01:36:29] So tell everybody a little bit about your experience up there. Like what y'all went through. Walk us through the classes. I mean, I was never in beta. We had two old sessions. But our first session we were late to because of traffic. Okay. It's these leadership speakers that are talking about how to become a leader and be a better leader.

[01:36:57] And we had... What's it called? Project proposal? No. It was like where the lady was speaking. Leadership training. We had leadership training. Yeah. We were all together. Yeah, we were... We did leadership training where he was speaking about... Trying to be a good leader. Yeah. And then he got this plan that... Okay. Now, do you feel like you learned anything from this process? Yes. Yeah, definitely.

[01:37:26] Tell us about some of the things that you learned. You have to listen to people and you have to follow the four pillars of beta. So, leadership, service, achievement, and character. You can't have one without the other. Yeah. Oh, I love that. Hey, Elizabeth, can we speak to Susie real quick? Yeah, she's here. All right.

[01:37:55] Ladies and gentlemen, this is Susie Hoygwin. As you've seen it, if you can see it, say it. But she is my other daughter. Uh-huh. And so, however... Susie, did you guys have a good time? Yes, we did. All right. Was the competition tough? Yes, it was pretty tough, but I think we powered through it. Now, what was your favorite part of the week so far?

[01:38:24] Um, honestly, hanging out with the girls. I love hanging out with the girls. Aw. Well, I know they love hanging out with you. And we've got Lorelai there. And we've got Catherine. And Mr. Dylan Jennings, he's with his mom, right? Yeah. But he was part of your team as well. So, the five of you guys all worked together on these projects. Am I correct? Yes.

[01:38:53] I love it. And how did you feel working together? A team effort. Yeah, a team effort. Great as a team. Yeah, we worked great as a team. Well, and you guys have done this before, especially like at Bobby Gray, you guys came up. Did it feel different with this group? A little bit. Because it's harder. Yeah, a little bit. Because the prompt was harder. And we got Lorelai, a new person. Yeah. But honestly, pretty much the same. Yeah.

[01:39:23] So, all right. So, what I'm going to tell the folks, because most of these guys were at Bobby Ray under Miss Caitlin McKay. Yeah. They've been to the summit. And this is one that's, they call it a regional qualifier. So, what they're talking about is prompts. So, what happens is they're put in a room and they're given a prompt about world peace or hunger in your local town.

[01:39:50] And they have to come up with an idea to help combat that. And so, they all have to work together and make a proposal. Is that a good way to explain what you guys did? Yeah. Yeah, it's really good. So, these guys have worked together. So, that's where we talk about the continuity amongst the schools and amongst the programs. The synergy, too, we talk about a lot. Yes. And it's so great.

[01:40:14] And these young folks, these young ladies and Dylan included, they're great kids. Yeah. They make really good grades. They work hard. They're hard workers, most of them. Is Lorelai in the band? Yes. They're all band members, which is really neat. And I know another thing that's going on today in Cookville tonight. The eighth grade band is playing in Cookville tonight.

[01:40:43] So, good luck to them. With the work that Mr. Jacobs and Ms. Hillis do with our band program. And what was really cool, I got to sit in a practice the other day. And there was Mr. Farnham from the high school there. So, making sure that there's growth, continuous growth. So, it's a really good thing. And that's why our band program does so well. And that's why our beta program, because of what Ms. Caitlin McKay started in the fourth grade at Bobby Ray for these guys. They're going to nationals. Yep.

[01:41:13] I love it. Well, hey, y'all be safe. Is there anything you guys want to say on the Warren First podcast? We love you. Oh, we love you too. Even though I think you're saying love you to your dad. Oh, she said it. Oh, hey. You guys, be safe. We love y'all. And keep it first. I'll call you back later. Oh, my God. I love you. Oh, man.

[01:41:40] I am so blessed that I have such a wonderful wife. Yeah. It starts with the wife first. Yes, it does. And then I've got these wonderful children. And then I've got a wonderful family. And then we've got this wonderful community of friends and people that... Oh, Jacqueline! So, yeah. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood, in this Warren County community. And again, I've said this many times as we're wrapping it up today.

[01:42:09] If there is a concern or a question or if it's something that is important to you, I want everybody to know, it is important to us. And let me tell you, we are... I always say I am willing and I am dealing and I am out and about. We have gone everywhere trying to get information for you guys today. One quick thing. I did text Junior because he had to go back to work and start cutting his prime rib.

[01:42:35] At Jay's Restaurant today, don't forget it's Friday, so prime rib is back. And he was cutting those steaks. That's why he had to let us go. But he was asking about the spring football. And that starts on April the 28th. So prom is on April the 25th. And then that following week is the spring football starts. Oh, and in that same vein, that weekend's a really big weekend. Oh my gosh, yeah.

[01:43:04] Because we've got forking bands on April 26th. So we've got a lot to report to you guys coming up. Oh gosh, yeah. But hey, let's get through this next week. And then we've got spring break. Spring break. I love it. Again, if there's a problem, yo, she'll solve it. I'll try. No, I'll try to solve it. I'll try. I only have so many names in my little black book that I can help out with. Because networking is key. I will tell you that.

[01:43:31] If you don't have a good network and a good system, you're out. But with that said, it has been a great day today. It is TGI Friday. Friday. Yay. Yay. And tomorrow, I want to say, you know what? A lot of people asked for prayers this morning. Asked, you know, prayer. And we asked for prayers. I feel like since I started the prayer on Monday. Oh yeah. Let's end with a prayer with you, Brian. Oh, well, hey. Look. Would you care?

[01:44:00] I don't mind whatsoever. I think it'd be phenomenal. And, you know, while we're talking about what we need to pray for, if you have a comment that you want us to pray for something, the time is now. So, first off, I know we need to pray for Miss Vicki Cantrell because of everything that happened with her in this upcoming fundraiser. We definitely need to pray for the beta. Melody Krim asked for that about them traveling back. The middle school is already on their way back, I do believe is what she was saying.

[01:44:29] We need to pray for all the fun weekend shenanigans that's going to be happening this weekend. Pray for all the games going on. And, you know, one big thing, we need to pray for all our government, local, state, federal, all of them. We need to pray for the whole United States, man.

[01:44:53] We got to make sure that, and we say this all the time, God puts you where you need to be. And God puts people in where they need to be. And I firmly believe that, full hearted, because we could not be here today with the Warren First show. If I didn't start this show, this would never happen, right? I would never have met Melody or Sheila or, you know, all these amazing people.

[01:45:21] There's a lot of new people I've met by doing this. And I think this is, God has a place for you guys. If you feel lost, I want to say this because I feel led to say it. If you feel lost and you do not know what your purpose is in life or whatever the case may be, I always say this because before I became a Christian, this is what they told me. They're like, sit down in a quiet spot and think about it. They didn't push God on me, by the way.

[01:45:51] They didn't. They just sit down and think about, you know, who is Kelly Walker, right? And I sat down and I was saying all the fun stuff about me. And then I'm like, but there's this one thing that was missing. And I didn't know what it was, right? And I was always, I wasn't at the time when I was, I was in disbelief of what God could do and things like that. But then the more that I read in the Bible, because you're not going to learn anything until you investigate yourself and like figure things out.

[01:46:21] And as I read the Bible and I started praying on certain scriptures as I was in middle school, a young kid, right? I started thinking like, no, there's no way. And I literally, true story, I just like, there's no way. This is made up by like just regular Joe Schmoes. I put the Bible away. And then when I got into high school, I met the Patterson sisters. They, and they're, you know, they, uh, one's married, one's not.

[01:46:48] And they started taking me to their church at Northside Baptist Church because I was a driver. I had my license before. And so I was driving them to church and I started getting involved in the youth groups and things like that. And I was like, man, this is really nice. Like something was starting to fill my cup. Didn't know what it was. Let me just say that. Didn't know what it was. And on, um, Superbowl Sunday, I can't tell you what year it was.

[01:47:15] Uh, I want to say, I think it was the year, it was the year either before or after the Janet Jackson incident. That's the best way to explain this. Okay. And I, I was at my youth leader, you members, youth, um, youth leader at the time, Matt Jackson. And, uh, during the halftime show, I got his wife and him and I said, I need y'all to pray for me. I wanted to, I just, it just clicked. It's just something just clicked. Like I need to accept Jesus in my life.

[01:47:44] And so normally I watch the halftime shows because I'm all about, you know, Superbowl Sunday. And, uh, I went and then I accepted. And I'll tell you what, I have never felt so protected. And, and I'll tell you this. Um, I know that sometimes it's hard because that one thing I couldn't get out of my head is I need to physically see Jesus. I need to, I don't want to just feel it. I want to see it. I want to touch it. I want to talk to him, you know, things like that.

[01:48:09] Uh, but as I've grown and matured, uh, through high school and now you don't have to see to believe. And that is the, that is the ultimate high, the most natural high I could say I've gotten from being a Christian believer is knowing that I don't have to see God knowing that he's got my back. Right.

[01:48:31] And so I have been through so many, um, so many triumphs, so many terrible things that I still don't understand. I've had talks with Brian about my dad. You know, that's one thing that I feel like God and me are battling right now. I'm being transparent because I've had talks with Brian about it.

[01:48:53] And, um, it has been hard for me to go back to church, to walk in because of this, like I call the, the, in friends, they do this, you know, like I always feel like God, you know? Uh, but God made me and he knows how I am. So I'm, you know, anything I say or do, he's like, well, that that's typical of you, you know?

[01:49:13] So any, but with that said, you know, even though I have not stepped foot into church since my dad has died and has had cancer, I'll tell you, God is still with me and he is battling with me right now. And not a bad way. Can I say this is not a bad thing. And I talk to him and I pray and I do all these things. And I know, and me and my husband just now started saying, you know, we need to think about starting to go to church. Randy James too. She's still at a young age. Walker knows what church is.

[01:49:43] He's been, um, but that's one thing I want to say. If, if you are looking for something, the best thing I think you should do is really sit down by yourself with no influence around you. Right. And, and take it what it's worth and think to yourself, okay, what, what is Kelly Walker missing? Or what are you missing? And then really sit and think and look at all these options that you have. Right. I want to say it this way.

[01:50:10] There's so many options you can pick, uh, whether you read a self-help book or whatever. If these things are not working, I always say this, try three things first. And if that don't work, you owe it to yourself to say a prayer to God. Just pray. You don't have to be a believer or not to pray to God, to me. You can talk to him.

[01:50:32] Um, and, and if, if that prayer helps out that situation that you're in, why not go a little further? Dig a little deeper, right? Well, hey, look. Does that make sense what I'm saying this morning? I feel like there's only one way to ultimate peace. And until you experience Jesus Christ and his peace, you won't have peace. It's really hard to explain how it, how you feel when you, when you feel that, that peaceful feeling. Well, it's funny.

[01:51:00] I subscribe to the YouVersion Bible app. Yeah. And so they always have a verse of the day. And today's verse of the day is Philippians 4.9. Yeah. And I'm going to read it out of the Common English Bible, which is one that a lot of people. I don't like King James. I'm sorry. It's so hard to read. There are no these and those in this one. But it says, uh, Philippians 4.9, it says, practice these things. Whatever you learned, received, heard, or saw in us, the God of peace will be with you. Yeah. How fitting.

[01:51:30] That's the verse of the day. That's so crazy. There are no coincidences in life, folks. No. You are where God has put you and he is willing to meet you there. He wants you. He wants to meet you there. But there is only peace through Jesus Christ. And so that's why for me, like when we talk about Isha, when we talk about people looking for things, I'm, I'm, I'm a Christian. I'm a Christian first. Yeah. And I'll die on this hill because he died for me first. Yeah.

[01:51:57] And so when you understand that, when you get that peace, you'll never want to go back. So yes. Thank you, Brandy. That was a great testimonial. And with your adoption coming up on the 13th, that's another thing. Oh, we'll make a prayer for that today. We want to make sure. Sorry. I just felt like I had to say that. Sometimes you got to, you know. Hey, listen, with, with the stuff that I've been dealing with, being sick and everything and just being here, God is taking care of me.

[01:52:26] And I, you know, I wanted to be with my girls. My initial plan was to be in Gatlinburg with them and to be part of their tribes. It wasn't God's plan. And guess what? That's okay. Because once you understand who's in control and who loves you the most, and it's not human love. It's divine love from God. You are his creation. He loved you so much that he gave you all the talents, all the characteristics that make you who you are.

[01:52:55] Once you understand that he loves you more than any human could ever love you, your life changes. And that's the thing. When my dad was alive, I didn't understand what it was like. I always had this father that, you know, he was, he was a guy. I love my daddy. But, but the thing is, is now that I've been separated from, from life, this side of life from him, I get it now. I get it. The only thing constant in this world is, is God.

[01:53:24] God never changes. And that's what's beautiful about the Bible. I'm not a theologian. I'm not going to tell you that all the fine points or nuances. No one has, but I'll tell you, your life will change with the relationship with Jesus Christ. So in that, let's pray and we'll pray for this weekend and we'll pray for this week. We'll pray for anything and everything.

[01:53:48] But I'm glad we have this platform to be able to do this because on other platforms, they don't do this. They can't. They can't do this. They won't do this. There's guidelines. Well, not the guidelines. It's just, they're not going to make a statement of faith that separates from, from everything else. And I want to say this too. And then you can pray, Brian is, uh, you don't have to pay to get God's love. No.

[01:54:16] All you have to do is let go of what's holding you back. That's it. All you have to do is let go of that emptiness. You don't have to pay an astronomical amount of money to get blessed. And he'll change your life. And you see that. You just got to let it go. You see that with people who know Jesus changes, changes their life. Are they going to have bad days? Yes. Oh, a hundred percent. It's not perfect. They're going to have bad days. But look, you're going to have a peace that whatever comes your way, you've got something,

[01:54:44] you've got someone and not just a person. You've got the creator of the universe. That all things that were created through, then in this, that we can even conceptualize are made through, through God. So, uh, we're going to, uh, kick back to that. Yes. He, he's made that for us. So yes. He already paid. So we don't have to. Yes. He, he became our sin. And that's, you know, a big thing that a lot of people don't understand.

[01:55:11] And with, with saying that because Jesus did die for us, because he loved and died for us because he came as a man in a physical form. He's alive as, as in a body right now, like we are. It's the resident body. And I can't tell you all the ins and outs and I'm not going to debate on baptism or anything like this, but look, no Jesus and you'll know peace.

[01:55:39] So we'll pray that, uh, on this beautiful Friday that, you know, with the sun out and everything, um, and it's warming up. We'll pray for that. Father God, thank you for all that you do for us. Thank you for giving us this day and everything that's in it, the good, bad, and the things that, that we can give to you, God, because you're our creator. You love us greater than any other person could love us. You love us with a love that knows no end. And we have purpose.

[01:56:08] We're, we're exactly, we're exactly where we're supposed to be and we should be turning to you. So God, thank you for this platform that we've been able to, to speak your name and to speak your love on and speak Jesus to the people who are listening and who are going to listen. God, thank you so much for giving us your son and giving us your Holy Spirit, our comforter. Father, we pray for people in our community that are, that have suffered trial like Miss Vicki Cantrell.

[01:56:37] We pray for her, the, the, the recovery efforts and all the things that are going on to, to lighten the load of expense. And Father, we pray as a community that your, that your blessing will be on us as we rally around this family. Father, thank you for those community members that have gone to be with you. We pray for those that are still left here hurting and in sorrow.

[01:57:02] Father, so we ask that you lift up their hearts and be with us as we are with each other and bear one another's burdens that we can lift up an encouraging word and be a blessing. Father, we ask that you be with our beta kids that are coming back today. Please be with all the beta kids that are traveling in different locations, but we specifically pray for those in our Warren County group. We're so thankful for the teachers and administrators that have worked so thoroughly that don't get

[01:57:31] paid extra to do things like this because of their love for children. We ask that you encourage that strength and effort and love for our kids. We ask that you be with our leaders within our school system and within our local government here, Father. Bless them and protect them. Keep them away from evil. Give them wisdom. Help them to be strong and secure and make the right moves that glorify you, God.

[01:57:57] We also ask for a lot of our listeners, all of our listeners, Father, but in particular, those that are going through things, good things and bad things. Father, we pray for the Petries and their adoption on the 13th floor. We just ask that you be with them and let all things go smooth. We pray for our friends and our loved ones that work in this community.

[01:58:20] We pray for our judges and our DA and all the people that work in our court system. We pray for our police officers and our first responders, those that are just zipping around here and there to take care of us. Father, we pray for our municipal and utility workers. We pray for the people who take care of us.

[01:58:44] Even the smallest things, the things that people think nonchalantly about, Father, please bless these people. Please help us to understand their worth and their value as just members of our community. Father, let us be solidified in loving one another and being a blessing and not a curse. Thank you, God, again, for all that you do for us. Thank you for the love you share for us. And again, thank you for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

[01:59:13] To him be the glory on this beautiful day. Amen. Amen. Well, with that said, take care. God bless. And remember, Warren County, keep it firm.
